Read the Ford service instructions about removing the mirror/sensor covers, helped a lot. Took only seconds to remove the covers. Wiring connections again, were really easy, all connected in 30 seconds. Well engineered & connections fit perfectly and securely. Now are the learning lessons I had known before mounting the camera. 1) Clean the windshield while you have the old cover off, before you mount the new cover/camera. 2) After you make all the connections, cut off the white labels. See pictures, they are really visible and spoils the OEM look in my opinion. 3) Really do a good job tucking the wires deep inside far behind the camera so they are not visible after it’s mounted - see pics. It ended up taking 3 tries mounting & removing the camera & cover before I was satisfied. 4) Remove the lens cover- lol oops. 5) This last point is more for Ford than the camera, it was really difficult for me to align the tabs on the windshield mount. Longest part of the installation, 30 minutes getting it aligned and secured- that includes the 3 times I had to remove it to again tuck wires. Software was really easy to install and connect to the camera. Only wish list item would be to be able to download the files via the WiFi directly to email them from my cell. You can download and view them in seconds on your cell if you need to show the video to law enforcement at an accident. But to export or email the video file you must remove the SD card and use a computer to save the files. You can download video segments to save and view using the App so that’s nice. Really easy to format SD card and configure settings. Video streams right to your cell live while driving if you want to see what the camera captures or confirm it’s recording video auto rotates from portrait to full screen landscape if you flip your phone. That’s all for my tips. One odd comment in the owners manual about not exposing the camera to direct sunlight or temps above 140 degrees. Um Summer in Iowa and 100 degree days, not sure how avoidable or practical that is? 95 today and the car sat in the sun for hours at the gym and no problems at all with the camera. Have to see how this works after months/years of Summer sun exposure. Again, really impressed with the camera & software. The look inside the car is so OEM I don’t think most would even notice the dash camera. I only got the front view, didn’t want to run wires from the rear. What can I say? I've never been so happy with a purchase before. The video footage is great. The cameras field of view is more than what I needed. The size of this camera is not noticeable. This is designed to replace a panel cover that is already there. This was super easy to install as it pulls from power that is already there. The instructions are clear, the application is wonderful and easy to connect to. I am very happy with this purchase and will recommend to anyone who is thinking about it. Note: I also bought the optional GPS unit and it was a simply plug in play. The rear camera add on was very easy to install as well. You can barely notice it in the back window. Super easy to put in. You replace the original trim piece with this and it's barely noticable that anything changed. The camera works great and the app that supports it does too. I really appreciate the included power cable, making it easy to tap into the existing power. Very clean and simple wiring job that is just a huge difference maker.
