These shorts are so nostalgic as they remind me of the superhero pajamas I wore as a kid--a very long time ago. The cool factor aside, these are extremely comfortable and well fitting gym shorts. I normally wear an extra-large in gym shorts and these shorts fit to a tee. The elastic in the waist is broad and gentle so it doesn't feel like its cutting you in two though it is secure enough I don't even need to cinch down the adjustable drawstring when wearing them. The material is primarily polyester with a small bit of spandex (less than 10 percent in both the outer and inner short) and is fairly breathable as they didn't get too hot despite the two layer construction. They worked pretty well when I wore them on the treadmill for a 2 mile run with plenty of support without binding or pinching anywhere. I also wore them when weight training and again, they wore great and moved as I moved. My one slightly negative observation is that they seemed to stay fairly damp for a good while (at least 2 hours after a workout) so felt more like I had gotten out of the pool than finished exercising. All in all I really like these shorts as they are comfortable, flexible, well made, and sport a Captain America theme--cool. I've washed them a couple times now and they seem to be holding up well making me think they're going to be pretty durable. I'm a frequent runner, and usually go with shorts that are just above the knee, and I've seen people use these types of shorts on local runs, so I decided to give this one a shot. First glance, these shorts almost have a "swim trunk" vibe to it. The inside material is nice and a bit stretchy, I suppose to give you the necessary privacy in case you're doing workouts in the gym and want to keep everything covered and tidy while working the machines. An interesting thing to note is that the inside lining does have a little pocket in case you want to store something in there. I wouldn't feel entirely too comfortable putting my phone in there (since it has a bit of heft to it), but this is nice for an ID or maybe an energy gel or two. I selected the Captain America variation and the pattern on the inner lining is pretty cool. At the end of the day, will I use this to run my training runs outside, probably not. I ordered these shorts and I think that the shorts are really nice. The product description says that the material is a cotton/poly blend, but the actual label inside the shorts lists the shorts as poly/spandex blend. I believe the label as these shorts have a good amount of stretch, not only in the body of the shorts, but also the lining. I personally like shorts that have a bit of spandex for comfort moving, stretching, etc., so I was excited that the shorts are so flexible. I found the shorts to be true to size and I ordered the size that I usually order and all is good. The inside liner on these shorts has spiders to match the Spider-Man theme. If I had one critique, I would say that the inside liner could be a little more supportive. But I find that lined shorts like these typically have loose liners. These are great shorts. The quality is nice. The liners are the best I have experienced with shorts that have liners. I have had liners absolutely ruin shorts for me, and I can say that these might actually be my favorite part of these shorts. The only size that was available was a size larger than I normally wear, but I am still very happy with these. I wish I had the appropriate size, but it would just improve my level of satisfaction to a full 10/10. Love the design on the liners, and the color of the shorts. I’m a geek that lives in Florida, so comic fandom shorts are regular, year-round wear for me. The double layer is great for cooler weather (60-70) and anything nerd-centric gets bonus points. That said, they don’t jump out as Spider Man gear without a close look, so if you are concerned about being garish or tacky, I think they look like most other red shorts at a glance. My 14 year old son does mma and then does running on the side. He said they’re very comfortable with deep pockets, and the lining is nice, but that he wishes the spandex were just a little tighter on his legs.
