The wife has worked from home for 7 maybe 8 years now. She has an office in one of the 3 bedrooms. She didn't want to spend the extra money on a glass mat for her office chair so she bought a clear plastic mat. We've replaced that clear plastic mat at least 3 or 4 times at this point. Wasn't sure about this at first. After figuring out how solid and sturdy this is, I will not go back to the old plastic chair mats. It is a little thick, but worth it. It doesn't move around much, and so far it doesn't show any ware marks, and doesn't have indentations from your chair. I can imagine it lasting for many year, paying for itself many times over. I was a bit scared to use this product at first. I weigh 240 pounds and my office chair is a large executive-type chair that is also quite heavy. Surely I shouldn't be rolling around on a sheet of glass? Not to worry. This is a well-made glass product that is more than up to the challenge. As long as it's placed on a flat, even surface it will not break while in use. It does take a bit of getting used to, and you might prefer locking wheels on your chair. A gentle push-off will send you and your chair across the glass and off the side if you are not aware of how fast it makes your chair move.
