Accurate sizing, fitted with darts and closed with back zipper

I searched for over two months for the perfect black pencil skirt. This is it The fabric is a stretchy, medium weight ponte' (double) knit. It is comfortably fitted with four front darts and two back darts . The waistband is stretchy and closed neatly with a hidden zipper. The side seams narrow in slightly for a slimming and stylish appearance. The back vent has a good length. I bought the XXL. For reference I have a 40" waist and 50" hips. I am 5'2" tall, so this pencil skirt will need to be hemmed up 2" to make it fall mid-knee. I will add photos later. I wish there were more color options, but you may want to snap this winner up before they are all gone. Read more

Good quality, fits true to size

I love this skirt. The material is the perfect thickness, without being too thick or too thin, and it skims over lumps and bumps without accentuating them. It’s also very comfortable, and the fit is perfect. I’m 5’3.5” and the hem hits exactly at my knee. I wear it with a tailored, three quarter sleeve pin stripe button up and it looks very professional and pulled together. Read more

If you DON'T want a TIGHT fit, but a modest/comfortable fit....

There's a few things that I noticed about this: "Marycrafts Women's Work Office Business Pencil Skirt." I ordered two of the: "Marycrafts Women's Work Office Business Pencil Skirt." One Medium and 1 Large; as I wasn't sure which would actually fit/look better. I don't like my clothes to be clingy, but instead.. modest & respectable. {It seems that so much of women's clothing today is designed to exhibit, many things that should remain private. In fact it seems that the clothing industry has tried to fool many women into thinking that as a woman, we "need" to be on display... that our "value, our worth" are based only on if we are "displaying" ourselves in the MOST sexual way possible.. I can't speak for anyone else, but I feel that "my worth, my value" stem from my beliefs, my standards... showing that I have dignity and self-respect... that I don't feel the "need" to be "on display". Now don't get me wrong, I don't think that I should wear baggy/oversized clothing either... just somewhere in between... but that's just me.}} {The suggested size for me was a medium...although 5'3" 144lbs... the medium was definitely a tighter fit.} So I wanted to skip the possible (beforehand) back and forth exchange, as I needed another new skirt last minute. So as I said, I ordered a Medium and a Large. The "Large" was the most respectably fitting, of the two... so I went with that. I'll be sending the medium back, as it was much too clingy for me. It put me too much "on display," in a negative, undignified way... which as I said I personally don't care for, myself. As a result, I felt very comfortable... didn't have that feeling of: "I can't wait to get this tight thing off" feeling. And I didn't feel that I had to keep pulling it up, (a.k.a. it wasn't too big/loose either)... it was a nice and respectable fit, that I did receive many compliments on. I did knock one star off, because of the fact that the title/description of the skirt used words like: "office & business"... which led me to believe that the fabric would have a slightly "richer" feel to it...which it didn't exactly have. But it also didn't feel like SUPER cheap fabric either; it's just that it's definitely NOT a fabric that I'd associate with the words: "office or business", etc, either. It is a "thicker jersey/knit fabric." I imagine with as often as I wear skirts... (3-4 days out of 7), I probably shouldn't wear/wash it too often, as the fabric might eventually begin to pil/wear out. And between the "charcoal" color that I picked and that the fabric is thicker, I wouldn't say that this fabric would be easy to "see through," by any means; but for a slightly more sophistication (a feeling of elegance), I would suggest wearing a nice slip under it. It's an ok skirt, (for me/my needs) REALLY wish that it was a nicer "silkier" fabric... but unfortunately it isn't. All in all, I would have to say that this skirt is more of a casual work skirt...and nothing more/less than that. Enjoy! Read more

Size runs crazy small!

Nice looking skirt, but runs way too small. I'm 5'5", 135lb with 39.5" hips and 30" waist. The medium I ordered should have fit me perfectly. The skirt's actual measurements were 27" waist and 36" hips. The waistband stretches only slightly. The skirt length was shorter than I expected at just under 22". Usually the model shown is 5'8" or taller wearing a size small, so I was hoping that my skirt would cover my knees. The medium is more like an extra small. The skirt itself looks well made. I like the tailored style and the color. The Moroccan Blue is not as bright as shown on my screen, but is still really lovely. The fabric label on the garment is incorrect. It lists a 100% polyester lining along with 67% viscose, 28% nylon, and 5% spandex. There is no lining. I would have loved this skirt. Now I can't even order a larger size. I wouldn't have a clue what size to order. Read more

An affordable and very nice skirt!

The material is very nice not thin at all. I do recommend that you turn these skirts inside out to steam iron or cover with a damp cloth or towel or you will get a very ugly sheen. If you have a sheen on any skirt or slacks, just wipe with a damp cloth and turn it inside out, or outside in, and iron. That's what worked for me, but If it doesn't work for you, try running it through the rinse cycle. I did not put mine in the dryer, so I don't know if that's safe. I'm 5' 1", 112 pounds, 31 waist fits snug but not uncomfortable, 36 hip and they fit is perfect for me, not to tight or to loose, and the material does have a little stretch to it. I purchased 3 skirts, size small, navy, maroon and gray. The navy and maroon fit mid knee and the gray measured an inch shorter. The zippers on the navy and maroon takes a little extra effort to zip past the seam of the waist, but so far, I love these skirts. Read more
