I have fine hair so most products either don't provide enough hold or weigh too much, so my styling plattens out after an hour or so despite my best efforts. This replaced Layrite matte hold clay for me. Does have a scent, it's not amazing(like Layrite or Seven Potions) but not awful either. Finally able to style my medium-short hair the way I want, with some volume and lift that doesn't look slicked back. I probably use 2 sprays on each side, 1 on the back, and 6-8 on top depending on the humidity, and I'm about 3/4 through a bottle after a month and a half or so. Read more

It works well as a volumizer, and it doesn't leave my hair sticky, but of course it does leave some new feeling to it. It's just that I can tell there is some product in it though, it's not as bad as say, hairspray. I'm able to get my hair pretty poofy with this, and the next day dry shampoo revives it a little even. I don't care much for the scent though. I wish that wasn't there. It lingers a bit too long and kind of irritates my senses -- some perfumes in some products just do that to me, and this is one of them. Bummer because it's pretty good stuff. I just get a headache and/or itchy eyes a bit after using it, so... eh. It's probably good stuff for most people, so I'll still call it good and a good value. Read more

I have really thin, straight hair, so volume and texture are always a challenge. I picked up this spray hoping for that effortless “beach waves” look. After using it, I did get noticeably more lift and texture than usual- my hair looked less flat, had a little grit, and held a shape better than when I skip a texturizer altogether. One thing to know: you really must blow-dry your hair after applying this if you want the full effect. I sprayed lightly on damp hair, blew it out, and got the best results. When I just sprayed and let it air-dry, the effect was there but much milder. So if you're going for real texture, don’t skip the blow-dry step. On the scent side, the bottle says “Mountain Rain” (or at least the listing mentions it) and I really like how it smells. I'd say that it's very pleasant, clean, and subtle. I would almost compare it to a nice, fresh cologne. Bottom line is... if you have fine, straight hair and want a light boost of volume and texture, this is a solid choice. I initially ordered this to use on damp hair to enhance my natural curls and waves. And I do use it for that reason but when I first tested and saw it can be used on both towel-dried and/or dry hair I gave it a try on dry hair assuming it wouldn't do much for me. Boy, was I wrong. It doesn't do much for my waves/curls but it does a lot for adding long-lasting volume to my hair without making it sticky/crunchy. I can easily run my hands or a brush through it. When i use on towel-dried damp hair, it enhances my natural waves and curls without weighing them down or making my hair sticky/crunchy and also adds some volume and fullness. Whether I use on damp or dry hair, a few pump's worth is all I need. It is supposed to have a 'fresh mountain rain' scent but in all honesty, it just smells like salt water to me as I spray it. When it dries, I don't smell anything at all. This marks the second time I've ever tried a pomade product and I'm really liking it a lot. This is a wonderful, reasonably priced texturing sea salt spray that delivers lots of good results and is reasonably priced. Recommended. Read more
