Let me start by saying I love matein bags, I have four including this one and the quality is consistently great. This feels like it's going to hold up just as well as the others have, which is great considering how smartly designed they are. This bag is weird, but it's a good kind of weird. I never would have thought "hey, what if my laptop bag was also my backpack which was also my lunch box" but I'm glad that someone did and made this bag! It has a big insulated lunch box compartment in the front and two on the sides, and what I really like about this is that they are fully removeable for cleaning or if you just want to use this as a regular laptop/messenger bag. The insulation works well, and you don't have to worry about the lunch box part being right up against your tech either since the padded tech pocket is in the back of the bag. Speaking of the pockets, this bag holds A LOT. The shoulder strap is padded, so it doesn't get uncomfortable even if you're carrying a good bit in the bag. The tech pocket has well-padded so you don't have to worry about anything getting knocked into and damaged, and the insulated pockets hold a full meal easily. I love that the inside is bright blue because it makes it so much easier to find things without having to root around too much. The space grey exterior also has a cool, sci-fi vibe and makes your bag easy to spot! The hardware is really sturdy plastic and metal, and like all my other matein bags, feels like it's going to seriously hold up to heavy use. The main thing I love about this bag is how flipping versatile it is. My partner and I really like it for road trips (not just work) because we can keep snacks in the insulated lunchbox compartment, our computers in the padded tech pocket, and anything else miscellaneous that we want to know right where it is in the main pocket (chargers, nintendo switch, medications, you name it). Having all of that in one easy to carry bag is a game changer, especially when you're the one in the passenger seat getting asked "hey, can you reach the..." This is the multi-use bag that you didn't know you needed. There's nothing I can think of regarding this item that is negative other than my opinion on the shiny silver this entire bag has on the outside. Sure, it could use some additional colors but considering it is a safety feature that reflects light at night, I quickly reformed my thoughts because there's so much going right with this product. The size of the bag allows one to fit most sizes of laptops/chromebooks or other similar device upwards of 17" comfortably. Then you have two side pockets designed for keeping drinks cold. Both could fit two 12oz cans of soda, 20oz bottle easily. One of the best features is the lunchbox area, which if needed, is removable for easy cleaning as well as giving more room in the main compartment. The zipper to remove the lunchbox was easily overlooked by me and I included a picture to show where it can be found. Overall quality is very good, includes a zipper to close off the main compartment, which once closed helps protect the contents inside the bag while everything on the outside is protected by the same silver coating that is stated to be waterproof. Can't confirm this but if the event occurs where it gets put to the test, I'll let you know. The functionality is pure genuis building a removable lunchbox and drink storage slots into a messenger bag big enough to house a small mammal. I had doubts that I'd be using this thing but those are long gone and now I'm saying I highly recommend this for anybody, college students, business trips, outdoor workers in need of an all-in-one solution for lunch and work needs. You get so much value out of this bag it's ridiculous not to try it out. Almost forgot, you can keep a portable charger stored in this thing and connect a usb-a charge cord to charge your devices on the run without the need to hold or put the charger in your pocket or elsewhere, very cool addition to an already feature-packed product. I'm not sure this will fit much else if you do use it as a lunch bag. The cooler portion on the front extends to the interior of the bag. It'll still fit a laptop for sure but I'm not sure it'll fit much more than that, which might be a great alternative to separate lunch bag and laptop bag if you dont need a bunch of other stuff too. I like the separate pockets on both sides to keep drinks or smaller items cool-- a can of soda or energy drink would fit well, but not a tall water bottle.
