I bought this for my gf's daughter-in-law for Christmas and she gave it an excellent testimonial on sharpness... she sliced her finger drawing blood within the first minute of opening it. The turkey was its next task and it was so sharp, it even cut through the bones like butter. Traditionally, I buy her a certain scent of a high priced Yankee Candle, but switched it up this year. I informed her that she is back to candles next year for the sake of safety! I'm not knowledgeable regarding kitchen knives, but apparently, I did good with this selection. It would have been comical had she not injured herself checking how sharp it was. Hint: It is VERY sharp! Read more
This knife seems to be good quality and shaped properly to be a very useful utility type kitchen utensil. The handle feels very sturdy and with the hole properly sized and placed should provide heavy cutting pressure done safely. The blade was sharp out of the box but it remains to be seen how it holds its edge. I am pleased with my purchase, thus far, and look forward to some heavy utility work with it in the future. Oh my gosh!! My husband is in love with this knife! After years of dull knives, he’s finally found the razor sharp knife he’s dreamed of. He loves the design with a a hole for his index finger to help guide the cutting and a recessed area to rest his next finger to allow more control of cutting, slicing & chopping. He was particularly impressed when cutting a slab of ribs for freezing. The knife went through the dense meat like butter! We bought a sheath for the knife to assure safety around the house.
