I have a Maxine suit that finally wore out after a few years of use and was delighted to find another on Amazon since I couldn’t recall where I bought the original one. This swimsuit is well made and provides very good support and coverage for those of us who prefer a more modest cut. I can swim, dive and river raft in this suit without fear of the seat riding up or the girls falling out. For those reviewers who complained it didn’t fit well, I suspect they needed to size up or down. I’m 5’4, weigh 180 lbs and usually wear a size 16. I’m in my sixties, am fairly curvy and this suit fits me very well. It’s snug but comfortable when I first put it on, and will give a bit once wet. This suit is a bargain, so I bought two! Read more

Wonderful fit and beautiful. It doesn’t fade or stretch out of shape. I love the wide bands around the legs. This is my second suit from this company. I will definitely buy again. The only issue I had, is that their size chart is not accurate. According my weight and height, they said I needed to order a size 8, but I had to send it back and re-order a size 10. Otherwise, I am totally happy with this bathing suit. Read more

Great suit but I need to shorten the straps. They are too long (and I am long-waisted) and they are not adjustable. It’s flattering, especially on the torso. I get compliments on fit and color. Read more

Maxine of Hollywood is my go-to brand for bathing suits that are modest, figure (read tummy) flattering and well-priced. The brand offers a lot of different styles and patterns. Returns are a breeze. I find the fit to be average. I wear a 14 at 5'5' and 157 lb. I am a pear shape with most of the weight in my hips and tummy. Other brands also help hide certain body areas but Maxine's is so well-priced you can get several bathing suits for just one of the other. I have had this brand for many years and it has held up well with elasticity and color. That said, I live in an area where we have a limited outdoor swimming season and I do not swim in indoor pools. So the suits have not had rigorous use. All in all, I highly recommend this suit and this brand. Read more

Beautifully-constructed, quality fabric, in a cute and bold print. Sizing is accurate (I am a big-boned, and curvy, 5'10" woman and wear a 12/14). Features a lightly-padded bra with good support and durable shoulder straps (I was so pleased to find a suit in this style that doesn't have the dread halter-ties that gather at the back of the neck that cause aching discomfort after a day swimming). Too many of the retro '50s look suits are improperly sewn, giving style over substance, and boast tissue-thin fabric to make a gal feel overly-exposed in the world. This suit is fully lined in front and the subtle shirring down the bodice gives structure and offers a flattering fit. Hem elastics are greater in width than expected, meaning leg openings stay in place and remain comfortable. Excellent coverage in the rear. This suit hits all the marks in what I am looking for as a middle-aged woman. Most comfortable, best-fitting, one-piece I've ever owned. Read more

I have owned Maxine of Hollywood swimsuits before, but my local store is out, so I sought this brand out online. This suit is well designed for the large woman's figure. Lovely fabric, colorful and floral, good support on top, plenty stretch, covers everything that needs to be covered without having the stupid little skirt on the bottom that so many large women's suits have. Runs true to size. Would buy again. Read more
