This dress is very well made and comfortable. I think it would be very flattering on a tall, thin person. I'm quite short, so it is a maxi dress on me. It is made of two different fabrics -- the top is a medium-weight stretchy fabric (think sports bra), so it is close-fitting and comfortable. (The tag says 95% cotton, 5% spandex.) The skirt part is a somewhat heavy-weight broadcloth material. (The tag says 100% polyester.) Where the two fabrics meet, the skirt is gathered. On me, this is right at my waist, so where I'm smallest, this dress flares out, which is not flattering on me. But when I hold it up, it's very cute, so I think on the right body type, where a little flare would be welcome, this would look great, and it's comfortable. Read more

This dress far exceeded my expectations! I ordered the solid black, and you can't tell from the pictures, but there is a fairly noticeable difference in color between the top and the bottom (which I actually really love). The top part is a stretchy, spandex-like material and is a fairly dark black, while the bottom portion has more of a linen/canvas feeling and is almost a dark gray. I intended this to be a dress for casual outings, and it can definitely work for that. What surprised me though is how versatile the style is. You could easily dress this up with a nice piece of jewelry or fancy cardigan. The material looks and feels high quality, and I feel so comfortable wearing it. I am 5'6" and 145 lbs, and the medium fits me perfectly. My only very minor complaint is the pockets sit a bit too high and aren't quite deep enough.
