Thick, sturdy, and attractive! No latch/lock.
This thing is awesome, and looks so clean and modern. The plastic is nice and thick, and is consistent with the quality of the other great mDesign products I own. It wipes clean very easily; however, I don’t let it get sit with toothpaste or water spots for long. I would imagine the clear plastic would wind up with visible scratches from the abrasiveness of scrubbing off dried toothpaste if allowed to sit for too long. That’s just unavoidable. But, the case is so clean and clear and nice-looking, that I want to keep it that way, so I clean and dry my toothbrush, tongue scrapers, and toothpaste tube before putting them away. Doing so has kept this thing crystal clear thus far! I love the look and feel, and, of course, the sanitary storage to prevent dust accumulation and bacteria invasion! I love the attached hinged lid (versus a separate lid to lose). My only complaint is that the lid does not latch, but just sits atop the base. It makes it perfectly convenient for use at home, but could make traveling with it slightly less convenient. It’s nothing a little piece of tape or rubberband can’t handle, but who wants to do that? Not me! A light latch would be a great addition to the design, or a second version specifically for travel. Regardless, I love this thing, and it’s my favorite toothbrush holder I’ve ever tried! It is larger and better designed than holders, and can easily fit my arsenal of daily oral hygiene necessities (a tube of toothpaste, small bottle of mouthwash, dental floss or travel size case of individual “plackers” flossers, a toothbrush, and my two different kinds of tongue scrapers). This is the first case I have found that is actually designed for oral hygiene products and can fit all of that in the same place! I was so sick of having multiple containers for everything, or trying to use a big catch-all style bucket. I use the clear version for myself and the white base/clear lid version for my toddler son, since the opaque base is more forgiving with toothpaste and water messes. My toddler also requires quite a bit of daily supplies, such as multiple flavors of toothpaste and multiple types of toothbrushes, so this case has been great for him as well! I definitely recommend this case to anyone considering it, with the caveat that if you want a travel case that latches you will have to secure the lid on this one yourself.
