I've used these kind of throw-away gloves for years. They started out as throw-aways for medical purposes, so by design they're basically one and done, although for light use can be reused. When doing yard work, I use them as a liner for heavy duty garden gloves (which when they get wet the dirt works its way through and dirties your hands). Like all plastic gloves your hands sweat in them (a lot), which means you will be peeling them off periodically anyway. I've used them when painting, where they do great with spray cans that always seem to get paint on your trigger finger. You have enough tactile feel that you can pick up small objects (think coins). I've even used them when working with cement that needs to be shaped. If I still worked on cars, I'm quite sure they would keep grease off your hands. The one weakness is that if snagged they tear, so they're not a substitute for heavier-duty kitchen gloves, but if snagged it's just a case of taking the glove off and putting on a new one. There are heat resistant versions that you now see routinely used for professional food prep.
