Medela Breast Milk Storage Solution Set

This is a great starter set of supplies for pumping and storing breast milk. The bottles are a durable plastic that are easy to clean. The storage container is a nice system for the fridge, but not absolutely necessary. It does have arrows to help arrange your bottles for easy access (oldest first use). There are 2 types of lids included; one set is supposed to be a quick labelling device - you can pull the lid up and set it to a Monday to Sunday day of the week, as well as an "am, noon, pm" slot. It is easy enough to use but I still prefer an actual dated label on my bottles. I haven't yet used the storage freezer bags, but they look like a very convenient set up (You can pump directly into the bag versus pumping into a bottle first and then dumping the contents of the bottle into the bag - which is what I am currently doing as I work my way through previous bags that I had purchased). The storage containers and dating lids are the best I've found. I love the way you can select the day and feeding right on the lids and I've only found them available in this kit so the kit is worth it just for them. The fridge caddy is awesome too, the containers just rotate around to keep organized oldest to newest. The best thing about the Medela storage containers are all solid screw lids, many others use 2 piece locking discs with the hole in the middle and the disc to seal and I hate them, I don't need more pieces to wash pack or store when it comes to breast feeding. The smaller 2.5 oz containers are nice for just quick pumping where I don't plan on getting more than that and the bags aren't my favorite but the other containers more than make up. Read more

These are a really great product. Having no clue about breastmilk other than what we read online we were a little intimidated on how to store it and keep it organized. This kit really helped us. The tray has 2 arrows on it that tells you where to put the new milk in and where to pull the older milk from to make a bottle. That really helped us so we could remember to use the older milk first. The lids with the weekdays on them really helped too for when were on the road and needed to keep things organized. It came with a good number of bottles so we didn't have to order any more. The freezer bagbags are also our favorite and we have ordered more as well. Out of at least a hundred bags only one has leaked compared to close to a hundred ounces of breastmilk we have lost due to our lansinoh freezer bags that have leaked :(. We recommended these to many friends and also purchased these as a gift set for a family member after having a baby. We are still using this same kit after having another kid. Very great product! This set is amazing! I pump to allow my husband to feed our son a bottle every so often and this set has made that so much easier. The labeling lids are easy to use and I like that you can also record morning, middle of day, or evening by using the three lines in addition to the day of the week. I don’t typically pump more milk than once per day currently, but if I were going out for a longer period of time or pumping at work, the time of day I pumped would be helpful to give the milk in order. I also really like the storage caddy for the fridge. It is a simple “U” shape, but it makes it easy for anyone giving my son milk to know which bottle to use first. It keeps the milk in one area of the fridge, which is great when you have a new baby and end up with a lot of leftovers. Read more

I was really excited when I purchased the storage solution set, especially b/c I was looking for a better way to organize my fresh milk in bottles so I could stop going through all the expensive milk bags. I would have given this 5 stars but after a little over a week of use one of the labeling lids cracked on the inside and broke when I was opening a bottle. I am pretty disappointing and hope this was just a fluke. I checked the rest of the lids and I didn't notice any indication of cracks or flaws. I have contacted customer service and hope they will replace the lid. I am pretty careful inspecting this kind of stuff before I sanitize it, but I may have missed something. So if you buy this set, which I would still recommend, just be sure to really check everything over when it arrives. I really like the refrigerator tray as well. The arrows makes it very easy for my Husband, Mother-in-law and myself to use milk within the correct time frame w/o the little bottles getting shoved behind something in the fridge and getting lost. The bags are OK, I prefer the target ones as they fit more milk when I am freezing extra stuff and are cheaper in the long run. Currently the 2.7 ounce bottles are a little useless for me as I would need multiple bottles for a single pumping session and my little guy would eat about 2-3 of these in a sitting. However he is just starting solids and we are planning to make some of our own baby food and these might come in handy for freezing some. The 2.7 oz. bottles are my favorite when you’re only pumping less than an ounce or two at a time it’s great to have these. I pump every 3 hours and I somethings only have less than 2 ounces these are perfect to store and get an exact measure. The 5oz bottles are very good as well they fit perfect in my bottle warmer, I love how I can keep my bottle warm at a consistent boiling point and all the bottles come out at the same temp, and they are easy to clean. The lids are fantastic, I love that I can label them by day/ am, pm. The tray is very useful for me it keeps my bottles in line and organized. Read more
