We use these pads as easy cleanup for when we put our infant down for some diaper free time. These pads absorb urine quickly and it’s easy to tell when baby has let it go. Thin. I haven't checked to see how much water these hold. They are the best buy I could find for my purpose (kitty sometimes over shoots the box). Being thin I hope they will hold up to a cat walking across them. I will try to track how many work well. UPDATE; My old cat just misses his box sometimes. His feet are in the sand, just, well. Yes, they're cheap and perhaps that's OK for your use. Please note: size is misleading (absorbent part is only 14x20 in my batch); absorbency is hit and miss. If there is a lot of liquid to absorb, hopefully it will soak in before you have to pick up the pad. Otherwise, liquid runs right off. They're see-through if you hold them to the light. Looks like small clumps of fill, doesn't span the entire pad consistently. I use them for pee pads for one of my cats who just will not use a litter box (old, new, large or small--I've tried them all and all the litter on the market! The large pads are too big and are more wasteful, so I end up using 2 of these smaller ones at a time. I go though about 6-8 pads a day. Sometimes she misses or hits the edge close to the blue border and pee ends up on the floor. And, sometimes when she "covers up" her pee, her claws make small holes in the pad which allows absorbed pee to seep through resulting in a slightly wet floor--I always check! Although they're not great quality (paper thin), they suffice for my application. Will buy until I find a better option.
