What we have here is a very attractive men's 9 inch swim trunks. The shades of purple will highlight a soft, low key tan very nicely. They are made of 95% Polyester and 5% Spandex (elastane) so they have a bit of a give in them but not much. But give probably will not be a problem for you anyway. I wear a 36” waist. The seller's size chart distinctly pegs that as an XL (35” – 37”) and so that is what I ordered. The waist fits very well with the gathered elastic waistband with drawstring. However I could walk into a grocery store and walk out with a couple of 16 lbs. hams strapped to my thighs. And I have nicely sized thighs. Whatever your size, I would recommend ordering down a size from their chart based upon my experience. The information says they are relaxed fit. These just might put me to sleep. The suit will not sleep on you though as it is made of quick drying materials to prevent chaffing. It will be doing it's job. The suit has three pockets, two on the side seams and one in the back on the left hand side that has a flap attached to the seat by a small but adequate piece of Velcro. The sides are as deep as a standard jean pocket, the back is wallet sized. It was important enough for the seller to put this point in the headline, so here it is repeated: There is no compression lining in the suit. It has a standard mesh inner lining. However as it doesn't have a clearly defined pouch, it doesn't hug the torso or have a room key pocket built into it, I don't understand a lining to begin with. Oh, well. I'm sure it is a legacy modesty accommodation. I was correct: “to prevent chafing, provide support, offer modesty by preventing transparency when wet, and allow for better ventilation”. No comment. All in all, this is a nice suit. Well made, comfortable material, good colors, modesty masking, hangs like an expensive garment and has multiple functioning pockets. You know what's awesome about swim trunks? They're hard to stain or chemically damage with your normal household cleaners. That's why, as a father with a messy child, I spend most of my time at home wearing swim trunks instead of normal loungewear. Most of the ones I have are rather cheap and disposable, but these? They're SO good, they're much better than my other trunks. The netting is tighter and softer than other trunks I own, the pockets are properly deep so my phone, keys or wallet don't fall out when I sit down, the aglets are metal and feel very solid. The material feels smooth instead of abrasive, and the length of the legs is exactly what I wanted. The pull strings are properly long, their only flaw being the string can be accidentally pulled out of the trunks, so you'll have to tie some preventative knots to keep any accidents from happening (I've had my strings putt out in the wash, for instance.) I'll definitely be looking into getting more of these as my other, cheaper shorts begin to fail or get damaged from raising a rambunctious child. My husband loves his new swim trunks, and they look fabulous on him too! I like the fact that they are long trunks, more like bermuda shorts at 9 inches of length, which helps prevent chafing. He LOVES these swim trunks! They are the perfect length for swim trunks for him; they're not too long and not too short. He's a little bit bigger and at 5'10", we ordered the XXL, and they fit great. He feels comfortable in them because the four-way stretch makes a difference. Unlike cheap polyester trunks that catch on his thighs when he squats or swims, these move with him. The water-repellent coating actually works. He wasn't sitting in a soggy puddle; they shed most of the water the moment he stepped out of the water. The colored design is subtle and isn't too busy.
