These ATTIQOZI 9 inch gym shorts (XL) are definitely comfortable, but run a tad small, and are thinner than expected with a tight fit in front creating a bulge. I think they're fine for home lounging but was slightly disappointed in the fit and thin material, limiting their usefulness. The overall fit is great. I'm a 38-40 waist, usually wear an XL, and these XL are a tad smaller than expected but are stretchy and still a fit in the waist and legs. The product description page indicates that the XL have a 9 inch inseam (typical for basketball or gym shorts), and a 37.5-39 inch waist. The 37.5-39 inch range listed appears to be the target body size, not the actual garment dimensions, as the actual garment measures 35 inches unstretched. I measured twice, using a wooden folding ruler and also a tape measure. When laid flat the waist measures 17.5 inches (35 inches unstretched). They easily stretch out to my waist size (38 inches) and in fact can comfortably stretch to 41-42 inches. But if you want a more relaxed fit or are in between sizes, you may want to size up. I'm a 38-40 waist, and am in between sizes on their size chart (XL vs 2XL). I feel I could have gone either way and been happy. The larger size might have provided a little more room in the front panel. But the smaller size is a slightly more snug fit around the waist which prevents them from falling down, which is my larger concern. Since these stay in place very well, I'm happy with my choice. I confirmed the inseam is exactly 9 inches as described. I have a dozen pair of off-brand and name brand gym shorts, which I will use as a benchmark. This is a slick polyester fabric -- not at all like cotton, and not very soft. I tend to find 100% cotton, or cotton blend, more comfortable. The fabric is however more stretchy than most of my other shorts. The fabric is also thinner and lighter than all of my other shorts. When I fold them up in my drawer, I mistake them for boxers. Using a high precision postal scale, I weighed these shorts at just 6.8 ounces (my wife double-checked for accuracy).
