Good for helping keep foot fatigue at bay

I purchased these for my son who works in an upscale restaurant, front of house. In his job he puts in a lot of steps on a hard surface floor. He really likes these socks as the compression helps his feet not be tired from 15000+ steps in a four hour, short shift. He's also a runner so I'll be getting another package of these socks for him to wear for that fitness hobby. He commented that the socks fit his foot well and stay up on his legs. Additionally, he's said they pull on normally for a runners compression type sock. He hasn't had these long enough to comment on durability and long term quality. Read more

Good but maybe not good for me.

These socks are among the growing trend of "Left" and "Right" socks, presumably due to the compression for arch support, though I can't really tell much of a difference between where the compression is. But let me get into the pros and cons and why they aren't necessarily for me, and hopefully help you decide if they might be for you. First off, they're pretty thick and obviously well made. I'm not worried about wearing holes in them anytime soon. The material is comfortable and soft with a good deal of stretch. The compression is noticeable but not too strong. I have a pair of compression arch support sleeves that are much stronger than these, too strong for me, which is why I tried these, and I can happily say, these are much better. Just the right amount of compression to not be uncomfortable but still give some needed pressure. They also have some built in rubber grips both on the toes and balls of the feet, but also on the heels. That last part is an interesting choice. I'm not sure how practical the grip is on your heels. But also. Those grips are the main reason I'm not sure these will work for me. So, I picked these up because I have a very particular need for arch support. I walk and hike a lot and usually wear hiking boots or athletic shoes. I have insoles for those situations. But, I'll be doing a cross country trip this summer where I'll be hiking through shallows and so I picked up some closed toe Keen sandals for those occasions. They have some arch support, but not as much as I'd like. But, because they're sandals, I can't easily put insoles in them. Now, before you accuse me of breaking a cardinal law of socks and sandals, I know. But this is about the arch support and being able to not ruin my insoles with water, where socks will dry quickly. Anyway, before these socks I tried a stronger compression sleeve. They hurt the tops of my feet from the strong pressure. I then tried an insole type of strap, that had a small pad that I wore with a strap. Even the thinnest pas was too thick along with the natural support of the Keens. So I figured a lighter compression would do the trick. Overall, the compression helps. They aren't as comfortable as my insoles, but my feet definitely hurt less with these on. The problem is those grips. They're pretty wide on the balls of the feet and if you don't get the socks on just right, they can cause weird pressure points. I have to be very careful putting them on and getting my toes in my Keens, because if they're off at all, they rub on the side of the sandal strap and cause irritation on the sides of my feet. The grips also make it hard just to put my sandals on and off. They grip to the rubber of the sandals pretty well, a little too well. It also means they like to stay put, no matter how my foot wants to shift. Overall it's a strange feeling and not exactly comfortable. I'll probably try some similar compression socks without the grips, because otherwise these work really well. They'll probably also be good for Yoga, which I always have problems with because my feet tend to hurt when barefoot for any stretch of time. So, if you're going to use these for Yoga, or in shoes that have plenty of room in the toe box that won't rub, they might be fine for you. But just know the grips might cause issues depending on how you want to wear these. Read more

High-Quality Performance Compression Socks

These socks take the "compression" label seriously—they are quite tight and require a bit more effort to put on and take off than a standard pair, but they remain perfectly comfortable once they are on. They fit my size 10.5 feet well, with the heel and toe areas lining up exactly where they should. The construction features varying weaves for different zones: the section from the ankle up is thin and breathable, while the toe and forefoot are thicker for added cushion. The added low-profile rubber grips on the heel and forefoot provide a secure feel, and I appreciate that each sock is clearly marked "L" or "R" for a proper anatomical fit. The ventilation is effective due to the mixed thickness. My only personal quirk is the mid-length height; it lands at a spot that makes them feel like they are sagging even when they aren't, though that's likely just a matter of personal preference. Overall, the quality of the materials and the thoughtful design make these feel like a high-end athletic product. Read more

Good for the Gym, Not My Favorite for Running

Hello all, I really like these socks, especially for the grip they provide inside my shoes. I usually wear them to the gym because I like feeling that my feet are secure when I’m lifting weights. The grip on the bottom definitely helps with stability. I’ve also tried them for running, but they’re not my favorite for that. I don’t love the feeling of the grippy material on the bottom during longer runs. With this in mind, I can definitely see someone enjoying them for activities like yoga or strength training. The overall fit is great, they’re very comfortable, and they do provide a noticeable compression feel. I’d say they’re medium-thick. I would definitely recommend them, just not for running in my case. Thank you! Read more

Perfect athletic sock.

I was instantly impressed with these socks. The quality and fit was amazing. Much higher quality than expected. The feel or the cotton was nice and so smooth. The bottom of the socks have grip that’s really nice for keeping your feet in place. The have a really unique fit around the heel and box of the foot. They are woven tighter to huge your foot and to keep the sock in place. These have been the nicest socks I’ve had in a while. Read more

Didn’t work for me

These Men's Compression Socks for Running are soft and somewhat stretchy, enough so that they were easy for me to put on and they fit well. I had hoped to use them for support for my feet at night to help with pain. I put one on and, at first, it felt nice with support in the place I needed it. But then my feet started itching and then I noticed that my ankle had swollen up in the area between the ankle and the foot that has the air holes in it. There is less support in that area. I had to remove the sock and didn’t want to try the other one on. The wash instructions on the box say to machine wash and drip dry. The wash instructions on the product page say to machine wash cold and tumble dry. I machined washed them in cold water and tumble dried them on low, in a mesh bag. Even though the pair was in the mesh bag, one of the socks had pilled/fuzzies in places. Read more
