The S Spowind 7" shorts are a mixed bag in my experience. The size chart indicated I should get S or M. I'm almost 6' and 160; usually wear 30-33 pants depending on the cut. I went with M. The fit in the waist could be a tiny bit looser to be more comfortable in my opinion, but are ok. The material is soft on the skin which is a good thing since there is no liner. The leg openings are roomy and allow for full range of movement. One thing I don't like is the placement of the side pockets. While being decent size, they are too far in. They are so close in that you can put your hands in each side and overlap fingers without stretching or effort. This is just odd. Although my Galaxy Ultra fits, I would not walk around with it in there, because it feels weird due to the pocket placement. The "vents" on the sides are an unusual feature and I like them. All this being said, the reason for removing 2 stars is two fold. Even though the legs have plenty of room, the fit across the hips (front/back, but front mainly) needs more room. The second thing is I'm not sure about the quality or how long these will hold up. When opening the zip-lock type bag they came in, there was a thread from the shorts stuck in the "zipper". I had to pull the thread out of the zipper and noticed it was from the hem on a leg. This means there is a loose stitch and will likely not hold up to many wash cycles. At a price point of $24, they are about mid-range on the scale, but I expected better quality. If you still want to try these out, I suggest getting a size larger for more comfort and don't plan to use the front pockets. Read more
