I run a lot in a hot place, so I'm always looking for different gear to help stay cool and comfy. I usually wear running shorts with liners that I've bought here on Amazon in the past from other brands. For comparison I usually wear Surenow and Maamgic in a large. I've mostly been happy with those but there have been a few drawbacks. These Fogfire shorts combine a few of the things I like about the other shorts without the same shortcomings. Out of the bag, they feel very nice and like a more premium brands offering. The liner is soft and stretchy while the outer is a bit more tough but still comfy. The liner is stitched well and in a way that won't split any time soon, unlike other brands I've purchased, which is a huge win in my eyes. The liner contains a phone pocket that easily fit my huge modern smartphone, so I don't think anyone would have issues using it and I appreciate it's inclusion, even with the zip pockets on both sides which are also extremely spacious and convenient. I usually wear Large but other brands have made me think sizing up could be a good idea, so I ordered an XL for more room. They fit well, maybe slightly bigger than I expected, so I'm keen to try a Large for my next order. Overall, I'm very pleased with the shorts. On my first run, they were very comfortable and I didn't have to think about them at all, which is exactly how I want my gear to perform. Read more

These men’s running shorts are an easy win for me. Right away, I like the overall design and feel. The 5 inch inseam hits exactly where I want it to, and they look good on the body without feeling restrictive. They have zipper pockets on both sides, which is always a plus for gym or running shorts, and everything feels secure when you move around. These are a two in one style with a built in liner. I usually wear compression shorts under my workout shorts anyway, so having that liner built in is convenient. That said, the liner itself is not very tight. I ordered a large, and in hindsight, I probably would have preferred a medium. I am 5'10", fairly athletic, and I have a noticeable build through the hips and glutes. The liner still works and does the job, but I would have liked it to be a bit more compressive. There is a drawstring at the waist, and the shorts stay put well during workouts. There is also a pocket inside the liner, although I did not end up using it. The fabric feels quick drying, lightweight, and comfortable, and overall construction seems solid enough to hold up to regular gym use. Even with my minor preference around the liner fit, these pass easily. They feel good, they look good, and they perform the way workout shorts should. I have no real complaints and would happily wear these for gym sessions or casual athletic use. Five stars. Read more

These are a light weight running short with zippered pockets, sewn over compression liners. I am 6'2" and weight 225lbs, I have a 36" waist. I opted for the xxl based on their sizing charts. I wish i had gone with the xl instead. At this size, the compression short portion of the garment remain loose. The zippered pockets are a nice touch if you are going for a run, or trying to keep stuff from falling out of your pocketes while laying down for bench press or something similar. The sewn in pocket for the compression shorts was too small to fit my Iphone 15 max with a case on it. If I had gotten rid of the case I suspect it would have worked, but I dont trust myself to not drop it on the locker room floor. The style of these shorts was fine, the running short portion was a higher cut than I would normally get, but when combined with the compression liner, I didnt mind it at all. The quality seems to be acceptable so far. I have washed them once and they dont have any apparent wear. I did feel like the running short portion was a little bit restrictive and the liner portion of the short was not actually providing any compression. This only really became troublesome while doing squats or lunges, during running, the shorts performed just fine. Read more

I was excited to find these shorts. They are great for the gym. I wore them to workout and run on the treadmill. The outer shorts are a sturdy material, so they won't easily rip. They almost feel like a swimsuit, so it seems like they have some resistance to water. The inner lining is comfortable, breathable, and not too tight. I could hardly feel the inner lining while I was exercising. This was a great thing since sometimes these inner linings can either be too tight, too thick, or can cause chafing and irritation. I experienced none of that with these shorts. There is an inner pocket in the lining, which I didn't use. I love the deep pockets with zippers on the outer shorts. They can hold my phone, and would be ideal for holding things like keys or energy gel pouches during long runs. The shorts are a nice style, with bright green inner lining contrasting nicely with the black outer shorts. They came up to about an inch from my knee, so they are an ideal length for me. I have a large pair, and they were a little big on me. However, I was able to use the drawstring to adjust the waist for a good fit for my workout. I really like these shorts, and they will be making their way into my gym rotation. Read more
