I feel very fortunate to have found this product. I am using it as loungewear when it's slightly cool indoors instead of as an inner layer for extreme cold weather. I live in FL where it's not particularly cold, there's no need to layer on top of this. By itself as a single layer, it is roughly equivalent to the warmth of a heavier top and sweatpants, without the bulk. Both the top and bottom are slim fitted, as expected for something intended to be the base layer. Designed very well, in that it is snug and slim fitting without the discomfort of feeling tight. The top and bottom are flattering enough for casual wear as well, for anyone who prefers going out in form fitting clothing. I probably wouldn't wear them together. But the top can be used as a basic long sleeved t-shirt with a different bottom. And the bottom can be used as a pair of leggings. Merino wool is one of my favorite materials for comfort and keeping warm without too much bulk. I can verify for sure that this is real merino wool, it has a very distinct feeling on my skin and it feels like all my other merino wool clothing (slightly itchy when I first put on, itch goes away shortly after). Since this is real merino wool, wash gently and definitely do not put in the dryer. Read more

This merino wool set arrived very nicely packaged and made a good first impression. My wife wore the set for the initial testing and the sizing was exactly right according to the chart. The fit was very good in both the top and bottoms, and the material has the stretch that good merino wool is known for. It is soft against the skin and comfortable to wear for extended periods. The weight of the fabric puts this in the thin to light medium category. The bottoms weighed 153 grams and the top weighed 160 grams when I checked them. It provides warmth but it is not as warm as some of the heavier base layers my wife normally uses in the coldest weather. For indoor use or for layering under normal winter clothing it works well and does not feel bulky. The stitching and seams looked clean and consistent, and nothing felt scratchy or irritating. Merino wool has a wide comfort range and this set stayed comfortable without overheating. The stretch is impressive and allows easy movement without the fabric pulling tight. We will wash and dry this the same way we handle our other wool items to maintain the fabric and prevent any shrinking. Based on the comfort, fit, and softness, this is a good option for someone looking for a lighter merino base layer rather than a heavy cold weather set. Read more

Comfortable and cozy. Wool is fantastic for active winter days because of its moisture wicking properties and the warmth it provides, but wool is not all made equal! Some wool is horribly itchy and uncomfortable, even when it is Merino. This set is not itchy at all! It's soft and comfortable, and the perfect weight for a base layer or for milder days. I'm a southern girl who can't stand to be cold at all, and these are the perfect weight for me as they fit easily under almost anything I might be wearing. The label indicates that hand wash and air dry are preferred. I did wash my set first in my washer, on delicate with a wool-friendly mild detergent. I do this for the "spin" which allows them to dry better. I washed them alone and they did fine with this method. I left them to dry on my drying rack and they were dry by within a few hours. I wore them all day on a cold, rainy day under my nightgown. They were perfectly comfortable and there was no itch. These are a great base layer option for a nice value. Sizing is true to size - the small fits me perfectly and isn't tight or saggy. I am 5'3", 130lbs on the day of this review. Read more

This is my first ever set of base garments and I am in love with them. We had a weekend at a theme park and it was frigid cold with high winds. It was not a great day to be at the park, but this had been planned for months and we couldn't change our tickets. We decided to dress warm and go for it. These very thin garments fit close to the skin and allow for other clothing to slide right over. They give incredible warmth. They are soft to the touch, but not silky. I am assuming that is due to the wool. I was warm but at no time did I feel sticky or sweaty underneath. There was no moist feeling to the base when removing it after a 16 hour day. These are far nicer than my husband's base layer which are silky and thin but also sticky feeling after long wears. I highly recommend this set for their functionality. They may be pricer than other ones, but the quality is on point. Read more

Very happy with what I received. I was hopeful that it would fit. I usually wear a large or xl in leggings, but these are size medium and fit my waist snugly and most important- comfortably. The fabric is very thin and light weight making it perfect for a base layer under every day clothes without being bulky and inflexible. Both the top and bottom have a lot of stretch. The more you stretch it the more sheer it will become. The images are of my thigh, being the thickest part of me it stretches the fabric the most. I can barely see my tattoo through it. This won’t matter at all under clothes obviously, and with an oversized shirt/tunic/dress it wouldn’t matter to me either. It breathes very well. I will be wearing it mostly under motorcycle gear for chillier rides. The instructions suggest hand cleaning only. Since they are very light weight and wool is antibacterial and antimicrobial it shouldn’t need much washing. With all the back and forth, warm and cold weather in the Pacific Northwest I’m looking forward to having these on hand! Read more
