So comfortable right off the bat, you can replace these soles if need be. I use special orthotics for plantar fasciitis. I also have arthritis so I appreciate how lightweight they are, and the amazing traction. I felt stable in them. The perfect blend of style and comfort. I’ve gotten so many compliments. Part of the reason why I got the rose color was because i wanted boots that wouldn’t seem like they’re too dirty after using them in dusty environments as is commonly the case here in California. I haven’t fully tested whether they are waterproof but they’re wonderfully constructed. At first, they felt a little expensive for me but after wearing them out of the box for a few days in Yosemite, they are worth every single penny and then some. I love these hiking shoes! They are so comfortable, durable, and a great value! I have high arches in my feet and these do not cause me pain after hours of hiking. Love. Comfy. Easy to break in. Waterproof. Only leaving 4 stars because they are so waterproof that my feet sweat a bit - on longer through hikes these might not be ideal, but for a rainy day hike they are perfect! The size is just right and I think they'll be nice and warm when colder weather hits. I am pretty rough on my hiking shoes, but these seem durable enough to last a while. The description says the color is rose but I would describe the color as mauve. If you're looking for more of a pink shoe you might be disappointed with how dark it is. Other than that they are really comfortable. I did order a half size up because Merrell can run small and they fit perfectly.
