I purchased this Midea portable A/C with heat function about two weeks ago, hoping it would help cool a room during warmer weather. Unfortunately, after using it for around 10 days, I've encountered significant issues that have led me to return it. The least of which is how loud this unit is. It's claimed to be around 50dB, but according to my sound meter app on my phone, it registers over 70dB at 10 feet away from the unit when the compressor is running in "cool" mode—far too noisy for comfortable use. The main problem occurred twice, both times when I tried to pre-cool the room remotely via the app. I'd turn on the A/C in auto mode and wait over an hour before entering, expecting a comfortable temperature. Instead, the unit was blowing hot air, actually making the room warmer. The first instance: The room started at 86°F. After running for more than an hour, it had heated up to 92°F. I was able to resolve it temporarily by manually switching to cool mode, but this defeated the purpose of remote control. The second time was worse: Starting at 92°F, after nearly two hours, the room reached 99°F. No amount of troubleshooting got it to blow cold air. When I contacted Midea support, they immediately jumped to blaming the issue solely on the room's initial high temperature—claiming it was simply "too hot" for their unit to handle—without even attempting any real troubleshooting. They didn't ask for details about my setup, suggest any diagnostic steps, or offer solutions like resetting the device or checking app settings. Their only suggestion was to return it to Amazon for a refund, which felt incredibly dismissive and unhelpful, especially for a product explicitly designed to cool hot spaces. (They even asked if the temperatures were in Fahrenheit, as if that could explain away the failure.) Overall, if you're dealing with truly warm conditions, this unit seems unreliable. The app integration is a nice idea but falls short when the core function fails. I'm returning it to Amazon and suggest looking at other brands for better reliability and support. Read more

This air conditioner/ heater system is NOT worth the money. We bought one,cit leaked and made horrible shaking noises within ten minutes of turning on. Called Amazon and got a replacement sent. Customer service was good. They scheduled UPS to pick up the defective one as these are very heavy. Got the replacement and it did the exact same thing. My husband called the manufacturer directly to see if they could troubleshoot. They basically wanted us to get another replacement. We gave up with this brand and sent it back and bought another brand....a hundred dollars cheaper, and this new one works MUCH BETTER than the Midea brand. Don't waste your money Read more

I truly do not understand this machine. I have been using the heat function since its still cold here, and when I set it to heat mode and say 68 degrees, it will run constantly and get the room up to almost 80 degrees. I have not used the A/C function as it has not been warm enough. I have read the manual multiple times and cannot understany why it does not turn off when it gets to the set temperature. I'm thinking about returning it but it would probabaly be a pain to do so. Read more

CAUTION: worked for exactly one month… So I purchased in end of May, 2025. Worked well for a month. Now one day outside of return window it will spin up compressor, blow cold air for about 1-2 minutes. Then compressor shuts off, not water is draining out of the tube. It then waits about 5-10 minutes and tries to cool with compressor again only to shut it off after a minute. I have been in contact with customer support, over the phone attempts to help have been unsuccessful. But I could not possibly be more disappointed as I am sure I will get stuck either having to pay for technician or to properly dispose of myself… Read more
