I like to submit reviews after I've used a product for a while -- we live in world where so many things are built to break, and when you're paying this much for a vacuum, you want to know it will stand the test of time. First, this is the stripped-down version, but the sucking power is tremendous -- enough that it easily takes care of our hardwood floors, but also works for our heavy rugs, even a large "shag" rug. Lesser vacuums will use spinning rollers to move carpet fibers around, but I'm pretty sure that equal or superior cleaning can be accomplished just with the massive suction power of this vacuum. We love that it's also light and quiet. The simple attachments are well thought-out -- you can easily shorten or lengthen the working end, and the brush attachment is GREAT for cleaning window screens. After three years, the cord is still retracting like the day we bought it, and the suction is just as strong. Note that this is an investment, and to keep it healthy you probably want to go with miele brand bags made especially for this vacuum. They're pricey, and if you're plastic conscious, they have a plastic attachment on each bag. But the way they filter the air (along with the other filters in the vacuum) means that super-clean air emerges from the top of the vacuum. That's another plus, by the way -- the external air vent is on top of the vacuum. We've had other vacuums where it vents out the back, often blowing dust and dirt around. But straight up means that that doesn't happen. I'm trying to think of some cons, but after trying so many other lesser vacuums in the past and having so many break (cord not retracting, power button malfunctioning, etc.), we're just so happy with our "princess miele". A final note is that the three years of service from this vacuum haven't been gentle years -- we've gone through two moves, and loaned it repeatedly to a neighbor who didn't have a vacuum. It's been used pretty hard. As for me, I'd rather spend more on a product that not only works great, but stands the test of time. Ends up being cheaper on the wallet and easier on the landfills to not have to buy vacuums repeatedly (which is what we did before this -- once we bought two in one year!) If you're looking for an easy-to-use vacuum that kicks butt and keeps going strong, this is your baby. Read more

So I hate vacuums these days. Spending $300 on vacuumes that last one year and then have a horrible or their motors give off a burnt smell. I hated the bag less versions because of my allergies and strong sense of smell.. This time I spend about a month researching different vacuums trying to find the one that best eliminates fleas. And my cats got fleas this year and I had to go through the horrible ten step process of getting them evicted. Emptying the bag less vacuums I had grossed me out so I decided, though setting aside politics and history, I decided to buy a German designed product because quality is hard to argue with and the vacuums is worth every penny. This C2 grey Miele has no moving parts to break. My teenage daughter actually uses it too because it’s light weight and sleek design. The suction is AMAZING! After three months of extensive vacuuming and laundry I have no fleas in the house and I only had to change the bag once and didn’t sneeze. The dirt stays contained in the bag. I bought the grey midrange model but wished I could buy the white one or red one because I love those colors more but they were above my budget. Did I mention that I also have birds and their feathers and seeds get everywhere. Also the cats kitty litter also clogged up the bag less vacuum filters. The Miele handles everything and I do t have to touch the dirt. Read more

The absolute best vacuum I have ever owned! This thing has tremendous suction. It is super quite! The extension tubes are made of metal, but at the working end of the tube there is a plastic ring. This ring protects surfaces from scratching should you choose to use just the tube for pickup. I only have one issue: what are the product numbers for replacement filters? It has 3 filters, the main filter, a rear filter, and a motor filter. Went to their web page and even for this model there are numerous filter types to choose from. This is the entry level model, and let me say it is none-the-less a good performer! Other than what filter types, this is really a well made product! Read more

I was reluctant to buy this vacuum because of the price but I wanted something light I could carry up the stairs. I’m glad I decided to go for it, this vacuum is light and has great power much better than a Shark I had. Three attachments that are easy to use. It’s has a bag that you have to change but that’s easy to do. I know some people prefer bag less. All in all a very good vacuum Read more

Good machine, easy to maneuver and picks up well. However, I bought it to use for more in-depth cleaning, to supplement my Dyson, which I find is best for quick cleanups because it dies too quickly. Wanted a bagged system because I have several pets. My issue with this new vacuum cleaner is more a consequence of my failure to consider the limitations of the type of vacuum head this machine has. It’s a flat-faced plastic piece that slides along the floor or carpet. There’s no motorized aspect to the vacuuming action. I assumed it had some type of brush and motorized head because every canister I’ve had has had them. So it’s not so good for carpets. However, I have only 2 small, very low-pile area rugs and the rest of my floors are hardwood, so I can manage with this machine. I have purchased the parquet floor attachment but haven’t used it yet. Other reviewers speak positively about it. I do like the light weight of this machine, its maneuverability, and suction power. Read more
