Delightful. Love Mieles for their ease of use and quality of machines. This one lives up to its name in milk perfection. Lovely lattes made just right. It's a little more fussy, but you can make life easier on yourself. I knew I didn't want a separate carafe to empty, fill, and clean... Give me simplicity. The milk intake straw comes in two parts. After making a latte, I separate the stainless straw from the plastic tubing connector and rinse the straw right away. I put the other section into it's resting spot, press the option for cleaning the milk system and walk away. I tried a couple other named brands years ago before choosing a Miele. They all had weekly cleaning regimens that I didn't want to do. This double pipe system is a tiny bit more complicated, but the foam is so lovely and makes the extra step worth it. Read more

When and if they work, Miele super automatic coffee makers, produce some of the best espresso drinks and milk-based beverages that you will ever taste. And they do it with incredible ease and sophistication. Sadly, however, they have numerous software and design issues which cause them to fail in unrecoverable ways. Many users report a problem with the machine getting stuck in a descaling loop, others have trouble getting the brew unit to properly reseat, and now my problem can be added to the list. Take the machine out of the box, plug it in, answer the first few questions that it gives you, and the machine is stuck with an error code. It just says “close the door”. The door is closed, of course, and there’s no way to cancel the message or bypass it. Seems like something that a simple troubleshooting step ought to be able to address. But there is no troubleshooting step for this. And here is the critical bit: Miele customer service is the worst customer service in the world. When you call them, they don’t even understand what machine you’re talking about. They have such limited knowledge of their own products. There is no team of technicians available to help walk you through problems. They basically just tell you to search their website. Your only option for addressing a problem with this machine is to give them $300 in advance and they will promise to try to fix the problem. Of course, if they can’t, you lose twice. At this price, a machine like this should be backed with confidence by quality customer service. And it should work flawlessly out of the box, and for many years. Having just replaced a Miele coffee machine that became increasingly problematic, which they were unable to help us service, we made the mistake of buying another one of their products. When it failed out of the box, and there was no troubleshooting available, and customer service refused to help us, or worse, was unable to help us, we decided to just return it and buy something better. Met my expectations of having the quality coffee I’ve been craving. I have had the unit for a couple of months, and have gone through the maintenance programs to descale and clean etc. There are definitely some details you need to follow the first time around. If not I understand why some folks got frustrated and had a negative experience… not to discredit others that have had faulty units. You do need to consider if you have upper cabinets … and it’s going on your kitchen counter, you will need to slide the unit out from under the upper cabinets to fill it with water. If you drink as much coffee as I do, this is daily. Despite getting over the initial shock of the price for a coffee appliance , I have no regrets and I have the pleasure and privilege of having the best coffee and espressos every day. Read more

I purchased this as a gift for my wife for Christmas. Since we started using it in January it has only worked for a handful of days due to the lines being clogged. We have already sent it in for service once. It worked for 1 day after getting it back and now we are having the same issues again. I am in the process of sending it back again for service. They tell me I can’t even be considered for replacement or refund until we have done this at least 3 or 4 times. To pay this much money and have to deal with this is incredibly frustrating. Stick with your old fashioned tried and true coffee makers. This thing is garbage and an absolute waste of money. Read more

I love my new Miele CM 6160 Milk perfection. It is easy to use and makes wonderful coffee including black coffee, latte, cappuccino, espresso and variations very easily. I like to make cappuccino with a double shot of expresso. You can save user profiles but I have not done that yet as the automatic options are many and easy to use. It self rinses the milk system making it easy to keep clean. I read some people complained about the software sticking in rinse mode, but I have had no problems with it. I love this machine! Read more
