My dog's nails have gotten terribly long because they were so hard to cut, and he really hated the process. After seeing a groomer's recommendation for these I decided to order one more pair, and I'm really glad I did. These must be sharper than the ones I've been buying, because they go right through the nails with very little force. It's taken the trauma out of nail day; my dog sits and holds his paw for me like he's getting a manicure! Don't waste your money on the cheaper no-name clippers. These are professional grade dog nail clippers. Easily cuts through large nails with a sturdy grip handle. Only caveat is that there is no set guard for the depth of cut. This leaves the user to gauge where to place the cut to avoid hitting the quick in the nail. This is especially a concern with black nails, so being cautious is necessary.
