I’ve tried a number of lumbar support pillows over the years, and this one is honestly one of the best I’ve used. I work from home and use it daily, mostly on the couch, and it’s made a noticeable difference in how my back feels during long stretches on my laptop. By design, it helps support and promotes good posture. The support feels of good quality, very cushy and comfortable without being too firm or too squishy. I’ve also tried it in my car and it really helps make longer drives more comfortable. I like that it has a removable cover for easy washing, and the fabric is soft and almost satin-like to the touch. It’s fairly lightweight, so it’s easy to move from the couch to the car when I need to. There’s an elastic strap to keep it in place, but I haven’t really needed it in my particular setups on the couch and in the car -- the pillow tends to stay where I put it. This lumbar support pillow is an amazing addition to any chair in general you plan to spend some time sitting in. It is super comfy and supportive while also giving relief to my spine! It seems to just be a memory foam with a bit of a dip in the middle for your spinal cord. It seems to works wonders for someone like me with a slight spinal cord issue who also does a lot of sitting for work (like doing research for an article or these reviews for example). It is good to also take breaks and stand every hour or more frequently but good chair posture is also important. Overall, I think this is a great value for $35 (at time of writing) since it can help ease some of that back/neck pain and stiffness. It is also lightweight and seems pretty durable and inexpensive for what it is so I could also see this being a good gift for a teacher, security guard, or someone similar who has to sit for hours at times completing/overlooking a task. This type of support could also help limit the amount of fatigue and likely the possible errors that come along with. I have been finding myself sitting on the very edge of my office chair at work because if I sit back, it hurts my back and I also cannot reach the keyboard. I had high hopes for the Mind Reader Lumbar Support Pillow. It mostly delivers. It is a simple install of just sitting it in place and taking the straps around the back of the chair and tightening. It has been very helpful in letting me rest my back against the back of the chair without a backache and allowing me to reach the keyboard without having to scooch way up in my chair. It is very soft yet firm. It has a removable, washable cover, this is a big plus. My only problem is that the pillow seems to slip down a bit into the crevasse where the back of the chair meets the seat. I have the pillow cinched up as tight as I can. Sometimes I have to tug at the pillow to get it back up where it belongs. It has helped my back feel better and it is nice to go home after being at my desk basically all day without a lower backache. I feel like the price is a little expensive for what you receive, but, again, it does help my back - and I would probably spend a lot more than this to help alleviate that office chair back pain. When i used it was way worse then the regular chair. Felt discomfort and pain. Thought it was just my posture, kept moving to make it work never did. Moved it from the back of the seat to on the seat and was still uncomfortable. Read more

As someone who suffers from chronic back pain, I was hoping this would be a helpful device for when I'm sitting at my computer desk. Unfortunately, it seems not to be the case. First of all, it didn't fit well on my particular chair. I have a fairly standard desk chair, although it is rather wide. It took some finagling to get it on. Once it was on, it actually seemed to set back a little. This may be because the chair has a mesh backing. Anyway, when using it I found that it didn't offer much in the way of support. In fact, it kind of made things worse. For one thing, it felt like it was kind of pushing me off the front of the chair. I am on the larger side of the scale as these things go. I don't know if it somehow hit the wrong nerves in the right place or something, but whenever I used it, I would start to get a decent sized headache. Needless to say, I stopped using it. So, considering all that, I can't say that I would recommend it. Although, someone with a different chair or different body type may of course have a different experience. Read more
