I tried this product along with another. This one will not charge a model 61 mapping device from Garmin. It will work to transfer data, but not for charging. Since it will transfer data, I gave it an extra star. So, if you want to charge a Garmin mapping device, you will not be able to accomplish it with this cable. It says it is for charging, but doesn't work. UPDATE: The charging problem is likely an adapter with too high of amperage charging rate. The faster charging adapters won't work. If you use a slower charging adapter like one with less than 2.0, it will work. Read more

WACOM USERS: The 6' length of the cable is handy because it gives the flexibility to run the cable behind my monitor/desk to the back of my PC with some room to spare, without causing any unnecessary wiring clutter the way a 9' cable would. However, I realized the very second I went to plug in the cable for the first time that I had been negligent and did not think to check the orientation of the cable or the port on my Intuos4 tablet (they are all installed 'upside down' in the tablet). As you can see, right-handed users will find the cable has to do a U-Turn back across the desk, which looks inelegant and causes the cable to inefficiently and very distractingly run right through your mouse/keyboard productivity area; this cable would be ideal for left-handed users, since the cable goes straight back, neatly, while in left-handed orientation mode. INTUOS5 USERS: Search for another cable regardless of which hand you're dominant with!! While writing this review, I discovered by accident that the size of the USB head and the shortness of the plug mean that the connector is too short to fit inside the port recess of my Intuos5, making it impossible to use the cable with an Intuos5 tablet at all. Functionality-wise though, the cable seems to work great; I have been drawing with it for roughly 16 hours over the last 4 days of use on my Intuos4, and I have noticed absolutely no performance issues so far. EVERYBODY ELSE: Product gets 4 stars because although this cable seems to be about average in durability and seems to be fine for home/office use, I would have liked to see the cable be thicker and sturdier if it were intended for GPS/vehicle use, where it will undoubtedly be subjected to harsher treatment/environmental conditions. Also, some GPS units come from the factory with a ferrite RF shielded cable (looks like a small black marshmallow along one part of the cable) -- this cable does NOT come with a ferrite module, so if your unit is older/more sensitive and needs a ferrite shield to work best, look elsewhere too. According is perfect for my dash cam. The bend 90 degree angle is exactly what i needed so it stopped putting pressure on the end. Which kept breaking them even the metal part! This has been perfect holding the weight on the thickness plastic not the cord! Read more

It works great for charging and keeping it charged on a long journey but it doesn't transfer data. I was able to update by using the wifi and keeping it plugged into the wall with an adapter. I did complete my objective but I was hoping to use the Garmin Express but it helped me get the job done :-) Read more
