Moen 4000 Single Handle Replacement Cartridge

OK, apparently this cartridge is not as popular as the 1255, as it was nowhere to be found at big- or small-box HW stores in San Diego. Nonetheless, Amazon came through in less than a day. The Moen product comes with an instruction sheet in the box, which has the necessary tricks to get the thing changed out. A 3/32” Allen wrench, small, is crucial to get the handle set screw loose. Also, the little red o-ring (Mickey Mouse shape) may remain in the faucet body, so a small seal pick, such as the OTC Tools 7312 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000P70QPW is a handy way to extract the seal, if needed. I like to leave reviews but some things, honestly it is hard to figure out what to say. This cartridge fit in my faucet easily, quickly and seemed to be a great replacement for what was in there. That is what I needed and what I got, so all needs satisfied. What I will add is that I ordered this very late in the day, I believe late Tuesday night, and yet it still arrived 2 days later on Thursday. I was expecting it to arrive on Friday. Yes, it is easy to install. It doesn't flow very well, just like the original one. It leaked, just like the original one! That isn't the fault of this piece, it is the fault of the faucet. I think Moen is French for "wet, frustrated plumber". I had previously sworn I would never buy a Moen faucet again, that still stands!
