Well packed and ready to use out of the box. There is no install needed because it was a plug in and there’s a on/off switch on the wire. The light also came with adjustable hook and a metal 3ft line for hanging. I like the fact it’s super compact and small easy to transport. I used in under my canopy and it’s bright as my house light. The good part is the efficiency of the individual lights spots. I can adjust it up or down to spread out the brightness. This is my second time buying more of this product. Overall would recommend. There are two fluorescent light fixtures in my garage but both are towards one end leaving the other end of the garage dim when the doors are closed. I had two free ceiling outlets on the dim end for the garage door motors so I was able to plug two of these lights into the extra outlets. They definitely made a huge difference and light up that half of the garage better then then the fluorescents do on their end. These come with a screw-in hook, a plastic anchor, and a little three-cable combo (you attach 3 clips to the light and then the cables come together into one clip for the ceiling). There's a little outlet covered by white plastic protector on the top of each light so they do seem to be linkable, though I did not use them that way. The length of the cable is super easy to adjust. Each panel of the light can be adjusted separately. They're also easy to adjust but stiff enough to stay put, and having a 3-point cable attachment means the light won't spin so you can tweak it to get the lighting exactly the way you want it and it will stay that way. You will have to position the power cord so you can reach the in-line toggle switch to turn these off and on. I'm 5'4 and didn't have a problem--there was plenty of cord length so I can easily reach the switch without using a ladder, but that did mean I had to have some of the cord hanging down since I plugged them into the middle of the ceiling. If you're using a wall outlet I expect you can just run the cord along the wall to keep it out of the way. I hung a third one in my basement. The outlet in the basement is also in the ceiling but is controlled by a wall switch so I just toggled the light on, ziptied the cord together so it didn't hang down, and let the wall switch control the off/on for me. I was a little hesitant to drop $60 on (4) lights but after installing these I'd happily buy more if I need additional lighting anywhere else. And because they plug into an outlet I can easily take them with me if I move. Read more
