Bright white light, great value for money (on sale for aboiut $10 for 2). Worked in an outdoor carriage lamp wth an open bottom. The bulb was about 2 inches from (above) the bottom so I was prepared to get a socket extender or something to make it stick out but it wasn't needed. I'm not sure of the range but at least about 10 feet away it picked up motion and went on. Would buy again and so much easier than replacing the lamp. Read more

Having tried an adapter with an integrated sensor used with a non-sensing bulb, I found that the application at hand had a socket that partially covered the sensor on the adapter and thus failed to meet the need. So, this product, with an internal sensor, turned out to be a great choice. The light levels that trip the sensor on and off correspond to dusk and dawn for a fixture that is on a covered porch. The 3000K color temperature is warm enough to emulate that of an old-tech incandescent bulb. The 100w equivalent rating is justified - almost too bright, so if there were a 75w equivalent that might be a better choice. All-in-all, great. Highly recommended. I'll let you know in 20 years when this bulb is expected to expire. UPDATE: About a week into the application described above, the first bulb failed - will not light up under any circumstance. The test is valid because the second bulb lights up in the dark as it should under identical conditions. One week is not "twenty years." UPDATE #2: The failure reported in the above UPDATE was preventable. After exchanges of messages with the seller, and the astoundingly clear and open communication on the part of the seller, I understood that these bulbs are unlikely to be compatible with fixtures that have a dimmer in their circuits. Running the bulb at less than full brightness (accidentally) apparently fried the first bulb and it is not usable. The second bulb displayed a lot of flashing at some point, but it has survived. I thus attribute the problem to my ignorance of the dimmer incompatibility, not the product quality. I did recommend that the seller make it clear in the listing that it is likely the bulbs will fail with dimmers, perhaps not all, but even if they do work the dimmers should be kept at full brightness. My thanks to the seller for enduring this adventure with me, and for clarifying the problem. Excellent customer care! Read more

Mixed results with these. I had one that failed after only a couple days. It was replaced and no failure issues with the new ones. The sensitivity and range is impressive, maybe even too impressive. Mine are often activated by vehicle traffic about 40 feet away. That could be, or less than good depending on your situation. Read more

I did put three bulbs in a ceiling light fixture in my laundry room, expecting that they would all come on at the same time every time at least one was activated, according to other opinions I read when trying to decide if I should buy them. WELL...I can tell you for a fact, the three spotlight fixture that allows me to point each bulb in a different direction...necessary in my small laundry room...that only ONE will come on at a time, and they will go off accordingly. It's true, they don't stay on very long, unless there is movement. If I'm moving, folding clothes, putting clothes in machine or removing them...any motion...the lights will stay on. They don't just go off as long as there's movement. Movement stopping after a 90 second...2 minute??...time frame, they will go off. MOVE, and they will come right back on. So far, GREAT QUALITY AND DURABLE...I even put one outside my built-in patio door, exposed to the elements. It's working STILL, catching sun, wind, a bit of rain...it's been just fine. HEAT?? NOPE...haven't noticed any heat from the ones in the laundry room. I'm not fond of LEDs..and I don't look at them directly...the flickering that is so fast that it's undetectable with the naked eye is definitely picked up by the retina. LEDs do cause eye damage. I avoid night driving now because of vehicles with LED lights. NOT GOOD! HEY...you don't believe me, look it up! SO...back to the laundry room...no looking directly at the lights! Keeping my head down and just let them do their job. After all, I don't live in there. I try to avoid that room, unless it's absolutely necessary! ๐ Read more
