These work great and are very clear. I use these at our facility and have for a number of years now. They don't last very well though, even when taken good care of. Each of these only lasts us about a year or so, we keep 4 of them running daily throughout the week. Great cheap radio for reliable communications. I work on a 36 acre college campus and utilize these radios for our Facilities, Maintenance, and limited Security use. These work great for our needs and patch into our existing systems very easily. They are very simple to program using Motorola's software (which can be downloaded from their website). They don't have all the bells and whistles like some other radios we use, but 9 times out of 10 this is all you need. Highly recommend. Read more

These are not your kids walkie talkies. I am a contractor painting water towers and these radios are the best! They have almost a 7 mile range, my guys drop them often.....most of the time the radio itself survives and we just have to replace the battery. When the radio doesn't survive a fall of 100' or more programming the new one is super easy because you can clone them, takes less than 1 minute. I have more problems with the external lapel speakers (pn53862) than the radios. Read more
