Mr Pen- Windproof Travel Umbrella Automatic Umbrellas for Rain Compact

This Mr. Pen windproof travel umbrella seriously impressed me. The build quality is solid and feels far more durable than another “name brand” umbrella we own that cost three times as much. We recently took it with us to Portugal during some massive coastal rains and strong winds, and it performed flawlessly. No flipping inside out, no bending — it held up perfectly the entire trip. It's a decent umbrella, but it does flip inside out in a brisk wind despite the "wind-proof" feature. However, this doesn't break the spokes and they easily flex back into the correct position, so it's not umbrella-breaking to have it flip, just annoying. The auto-open and auto-close feature is especially great when entering/exiting public transit while juggling a purse, lunchbox, and waterbottle. The button requires a bit of a firm press, but overall it functions great. When closing it, the button just collapses the spokes in, it doesn't shorten the telescoping section, and you do have to manually click it back down in order for it to open the next time you press the button. Once you figure out the quirks, it's a very handy umbrella! I was especially pleased with the color choices. The one I received is a very cute mint green. Read more

Okay, so I was skeptical about this little guy at first—most compact umbrellas are pretty flimsy, right? But honestly, this one is a pleasant surprise. The best part is definitely the automatic open and close button; it's a lifesaver when you're juggling a coffee and groceries in a sudden downpour. The canopy material has a coating (Teflon, I think?) that makes the rain just bead up and roll right off, so it dries super fast and I'm not dripping water everywhere when I get indoors.
