So I have a pair of arctic wide calf I think knee high boots. My wife got them for me at cabelas or bass pro. The thinh I like about them is I can literally just step into the wide calf arctics, no laces, with thick gloves on, no hands needed, and walk out the door and do chores and other stuff all day in the snow or mud. I like them so much I have been looking for a clearance sale to buy another set for when those wear out. My wife bought these arctic mid height for herself and it got me thinking. The height and width of entry for the mids is the same as the knee height just below the calf expansion. I never tightened my wide calfs. I just stepped in them and went out the door. Note: if it was snowing a lot or deep and snow would get in my boots then I would just wear my sorels under my pants. So after loving everything about the higher x wide arctics, wearing them 75% of the winter, and these are essentially the same boot below the wide calf part I bit the bullet on a sale price in June. Its a little more flimsy at the top of the boot bc the wide calfs have a rubber part at the top and that holds it open better..I can still step in with gloves on and thus using no hands, but I have to wiggle in a little more and the top is not as open. They are lying flat in the box and they came out of the box quite closed and flattened. I added a roll of towels to the top all summer as I got them on sale in June, it helped about 25%. I started wearing them the past two days. Sept 28 & 29 in fall mud. I am a 9.5 EEEE in asics running shoes and the 10 fits great. I tried their NON vibram/arctic winter soles and they are not as wide as the vibram arctic soles so that's all I will get now. I can wear these all day around the property and feel like I am in heaven. My friend made me try his on and thats how I found them. They are my favorite boots midnor wide calf. These mid height boots are as comfortable just a little harder to slip in effortlessly. I would prefer a 1 inch rubber ring around the rim to keep them spread open more than 1.5 inches, but then it would not fit under your pants as well if that was your goal. Read more

I got these mainly for winter use, and they have *greatly* exceeded my expectations. I'm really pleased by them. Fit: Perfect. I ordered a size 10, which is the shoe size I normally wear, and they fit perfectly with athletic socks. My feet feel just the right amount of snug-ness - not too tight, and not too loose. Comfort: I have worn these on several 4-mile walks after recent snowfalls, and my feet were just as comfortable at the conclusion of the walks as they were at the beginning. These boots don't feel heavy. Warmth: I've been out with them for extended periods in snow when the temperature was -5F, and my feet were very happy - Not cold or even cool, but also not hot. Traction: They're pretty good in slippery conditions, but since they don't have any metal spikes, they are not impervious to sliding on ice. Ease of putting on and taking off: Really good. My feet slip right in and feel just the right amount of snug-ness, but come off without a struggle, albeit with a little bit of tugging (but that's what keeps them snug). My spouse was so jealous that we had to order another pair. I don't think that many products actually deserve 5 star ratings, but these boots do without any doubt. Read more

Love the boots, and the efficient service. So efficient that I've got the boots even though the tracking system doesn't know they've gotten past the first step. Read more

My Grandson went to work at a ski resort in Colorado this season so he could spend his free time snowboarding. He was having a hard time keeping his feet warm and dry in his snow boots while working. So I sent him a pair of these boots. Problem solved! He said not only are his feet staying dry, they are toasty warm in these insulated muck boots. Read more

As a Michigander these boots are moderate weather boots, not cold weather boots. I bought these to replace my 10+ year old Muck Arctics and was sadly disappointed in how the quality and insulation has gone down. These aren't nearly as insulated as my old Muck's, they're nearly identical to the other brand that starts with a B. With my old mucks my feet would sweat, these mucks your feet get cold warming up the truck. If you wear a 10.5 shoe get size 11 in these boots and plan on thick socks for below freezing temps. They're still a good boot, just definitely not arctic by any means. 5mm not 8mm. Read more
