I have used this item this past year and ran out. This is my second purchase. First, my skin is glowing. The discoloration/texture has decreased significantly. I am not sure if my change of diet also is a factor. When I used another moisturizer after I ran out, I saw my skin become problematic. Honestly, you can't really go wrong with Murad skincare products. I often have at least one Murad product in my current skincare rotation. Right now, it's this Essential-C Firming cream. It is lightweight and absorbs quickly, which is perfect in hot and humid summer weather. With some areas of skin (like my cheeks) that can become overly dry in the winter, I don't see this cream being enough on its own to keep those spots hydrated enough. For now, I can apply this cream, brush my teeth, and that two minutes is plenty of time for this to absorb. It's also not so thick that it causes makeup primer to pill up. The push-down top helps keep air and bacteria out of the product. This also makes it really travel friendly. I do wish this had a built-in SPF as vitamin C can cause sun sensitivity. That's my only minor hesitation/concern, but it's not enough to make me not buy this again. It's just something that helps save a step. And speaking of vitamin C, when using this cream make sure to not mix it with any of the following ingredients as they can cancel each other out and/or cause excessive redness and peeling: Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs) such as Lactic Acid, Malic Acid, Glycolic Acid, Citric Acid, Tartaric Acid; Beta Hydroxy Acids (BHAs) such as Tropic Acid, Betaine Salicylate, Salix Acid; Retinol; Niacinamide; Benzoyl Peroxide. If you use products with any of these ingredients, use them at a different time from this cream, like use this in the morning and the other product(s) at night. Read more
The Murad Essential-C Firming Radiance Day Cream adds a ton of moisture to my skin every morning. I've been using it since I received it. My skin had been very dry and troubled lately, but this day cream appears to have hydrated and firmed my skin in the past week or so. When I apply this day cream, I occasionally feel a slightly stinging where my skin is dry and peeling. It immediately resolves, and my skin has improved daily. Presumably the vitamin c is a bit strong. I love the pot of this moisturizer. It has a mechanism to release a measured pump of the moisturizer, and I feel like it's very hygienic. The moisturizer itself is light and spreads very easily. I only need a tiny bit to cover my entire face. Highly recommended. Read more
