Product works well and at a good price!

A. Broussalβ€”February 25, 2020βœ“ Verified purchase

I have had a E-collar before in the late 90s to have my first service to stop jumping on my lap while in my wheelchair and to trust her off leash, that collar didn't have all the features this one has. I like the bell tone, vibrate, and shock choice . I have a new puppy golden reterive who jumps on me and runs while on leash and he also puts his head in the trash can and finds things on the floor and ground outside he shouldn't eat. I am disabled and can't run and stop him so I bought this E-collar looked at all the reviews and most were 5 star and I appericate the first review with a 8 minute video showing how to set up the collar and additional collars if you buy more than one which I did. Easy set up and the charge last a long time too! I charged it last night since I bought in in January 2020. I use the bell tone to get Ezra's attention and if he dosen't listen to me I use the vibrate which usually works. If He puts his head in the trash I give a quick zap on the second level and he stops doing that. He knows I will correct him and when I carry the the transmitter in my hand or have it around my neck I walk with a cane. Ezra is very smart puppy will be 4 months old in March and he will be a big dog and I can't have him jump up at me to make me fall and brake a bone, so this is where the E-collar comes in for training. You can't use treats to redirect bad behavior, it dosen't work use the E-collar to correct bad behavior using the shock button. I haven't used the continues shock yet may not have to. Bell button works if you have that at high but if you do all the other buttons are on high level too, so remember that. Ezra does better on the E-collar than prong he pulls hard and runs faster than me and this helps him come when called with out using or not having a treat in hand. I haven't used the other transmitter collars on Jack my pug or my mom's pug Frankie yet but I'm sure it would work on them too! A great product and price! Recommend it to anyone who needs to train their dog. Read more

Simply A Great Collar

David T Hendersonβ€”May 30, 2020βœ“ Verified purchase

This training collar is used on my labrador/South African mastiff cross. It operates ideally. I have absolutely no complaints over the product quality, durability, or battery life. The collar is well engineered and performs to expectations. Pros The collar design uses a strap over the shock unit. In the past I have owned units that integrate collar and shock unit into a single system. While these collars look nice inevitably they break making the transmitter an orphan. This product allows the use of multiple collars, different colors with the shock unit because the collar threads through and over the shock unit. This is a far more durable design. Dogs like routine. My Mastidor and I have a routine where each morning, the very first thing, he puts on the collar. Each evening before bed he takes off the collar. When the collar is removed it goes immediately to the charger. This brings me to something else I like about this collar. I never have to turn the unit on or off. When it goes into charge mode it retains the on status of when it was plugged in. When you unplug it from being charged, for example in the morning when I am putting the collar on my dog, both the collar and the transmitter remain as they were when placed on the charger the night before. My dog wears the collar roughly 14 hours a day. The collar does not irritate him using the short prongs equipped on the shock unit. Also, because of the routine where by the collar is removed at night and placed on the dog in the morning, I have yet to have an issue with battery life. I’ve seen many complaints by people using collars. My belief is that battery life is a user issue, not a collar issue. Cons The only downside to the collar concerns the LED flashing strobe. My dog is perfectly black with no markings on him whatsoever. Once he is 30 feet from the house at night it is impossible to see him, even in the brightest moonlight. I looked to the strobe to alleviate the issue of not knowing where my dog was when I could not see him. I am disappointed that the output from the strobe is at best low intensity. I understand that battery life and brightness of the LED are related, however, the shock unit would benefit from a much brighter LED strobe. Read more

Overall Great Except Remote Battery Life Flaw

Deseray Mannβ€”March 28, 2020βœ“ Verified purchase

Overall, the product has worked very well for training and keeping our dog near on our mountainous acreage. Our dog already stays pretty close, but sometimes needs a little reminder. The different options for how you would to communicate to your dog is great rather than only one, as that's what another brand we have for our other dog has. One downfall is that we generally are outside from morning to evening and I've noticed that the collar remains full battery life. In the very beginning couole months of my purchase, the remote wouldn't die until maybe 2 days later (in the event I forgot to turn off and recharge). However, after a couple of months I have noticed the remote is completely dead within 4-6 hours. I'm not constantly using it (if not at all, its mainly used as a safety precaution), though if my dog did decide to randomly take off after wildlife while the remote is dead, the whole purpose for the collar is truly useless. If the battery life of the remote would remain as long as the collar, then my review would be a full 5 stars. Not sure if there is just an overall flaw with this remote specifically, or if the remotes 5 months of age has taken a toll? I feel as if that shouldn't be the case. Anywho, I would recommend this set up for training overall! Read more
