It Works!!

Able to use my NOCO Genius 1 with my sae plugs. Saved me the hassle of taking my BMW R1100S fairings off to access the battery. Cost is a bit high, almost as much as charger itself, but well worth it to be able to use NOCO's override/force mode. High quality, as is the case with all NOCO products that I've used. Read more

If only it included a polarity reverser, and didn't cost so much

This adapter works as expected, and it would be very odd if it didn't. But there are a couple of things to gripe about. First, it costs about twice what it should. The NOCO quick connector is a manufacturer-specific connector, so in order to adapt it to SAE, if that's what you need to do, this is your only choice, and NOCO charges twice what they should charge for it. They got the polarity the opposite of what it should be. Since you use this as a voltage source, the positive pin should be the +12VDC, and the exposed pin should be negative. Although, no matter which way they did it, it is always the responsibility of the user, when doing anything with DC power, to insure that the polarity is correct. You need to have a small DVM or DC polarity checker of some sort. AND, in general you need to have one of those little polarity reversers. NOCO should have packaged one those little inexpensive polarity reversers with this thing, but they didn't, and this is another gripe, especially since you'll very likely need one, given that they got the polarity wrong. My particular need was with using my NOCO charger to charge a small 12VDC lithium ion battery pack, that I recently bought from Amazon. For charging the battery pack, the battery case has the female half of a common 5.5mm x 2.1mm coaxial power connector, as you would expect. I needed to adapt the output of the NOCO charger to the male half of this type of power connector. Note that the male half has exposed metal on the outside and does not have a pin on the inside, whereas the female half has a pin on the inside. When you check the polarity with this type of connector, you always need to check it at the male half, for the simple reason that there is no way to make reliable probe contact at the female end. In some cases, you will need a male-to-male adapter of this type, 5.5mm x 2.1mm, in order to have an exposed male half so that you can check the polarity. Thus, there are three things that you generally need to have handy when working with SAE and coaxial power cabling: 1. polarity checker, 2. SAE polarity reverser (a small, simple, cheap thing), 3. male-to-male adapter for the coaxial cabling. For the male-to-male coaxial adapter, it is handy for one end to have a 90-degree bend in the connector. Sometimes it is handy for both ends to have a 90-degree bend. The full setup that I needed, in order to charge the battery using the NOCO charger: 1. The NOCO to SAE adapter 2. SAE polarity reverser 3. SAE to 5.5mm x 2.1mm adapter with female coaxial connector 4. Short male-to-male 5.5mm x 2.1mm coaxial cable You can find SAE to 5.5mm x 2.1mm adapters with male coaxial connector, and this is probably the better one to have at least 50% of the time. Because of the configuration that applies when I use the battery for what I use it for, as opposed to when I am charging it, I needed a male-to-male adapter to connect the battery output (also female coaxial 5.5mm x 2.1mm) to the power cable that goes to a security camera. Given that I needed this cable, I decided to use it when charging the battery, which meant that I needed the SAE to coaxial adapter to have the female half of the coaxial connector. For me this was a tossup, however in the majority of applications it will probably be more useful for the coaxial connector to be male, on the SAE to coaxial adapter. Read more

Makes X-Connect Nearly Universal

A high quality conversion accessory for the NOCO X-Connect chargers and jump starters. Safely (via a 20 amp replaceable inline fuse) ensures existing SAE terminals and connections aren’t rendered useless saving time and money. A well thought out solution to potential incompatibility issues arising from switching to the X-Connector format chargers and jumpers from NOCO. Made the choice for me a lot easier, as I have quite a few hard wired SAE connections scattered around the ranch. Only improvement I might make would be to add a cap for the SAE end. I highly recommend this adapter. Read more

High-Quality SAE Adapter – Perfect for NOCO and Tecmate Users!

The NOCO GC009 X-Connect SAE Adapter is a must-have if you use NOCO Genius chargers and rely on SAE connectors for powersports equipment. I use it with my NOCO Genius 2x2 and commonly plug it into Tecmate OptiMATE ports on my KLR650 and Z900 without any issues. This adapter is well-built, robust, and feels extremely durable—I’ve been using it for 2 years with zero wear or tear. It even includes a built-in fuse for safety, which is a great feature in case of a short. Performance has been flawless, and it works exactly as described. The only downside is the cost—it’s very high for what it is. I’d consider buying more if the price dropped below $15. Still, if you want a safe, reliable, and long-lasting adapter, this is the one to get. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to integrate NOCO products with existing SAE setups! Pros: Compatible with NOCO Genius chargers and Tecmate OptiMATE ports Built-in fuse for added safety Extremely durable (2 years of use, no wear) Works perfectly with SAE accessories Robust, high-quality construction Cons: Very expensive for an adapter Read more

Great for the motorcycle

I really hate that nowadays everything is sold separately. I had bought the NOCO charger a while back. I had to buy this for a new motorcycle I had purchased. It was a great fit. I just thought it was a bit too much but overall I am good with it. Read more
