Nootkas Felted Merino Wool Astoria Mule House Slipper for Men and Women

I looked at a lot of house slippers, and took a chance on these. I could not be more pleased ! They are very nice! They are light weight, soft not itchy, real wool, a not slippery leather bottom, and molded to my feet quickly. I ordered my regular shoe size, and at first I wondered if they were a little bit short, but after wearing them gently for 20 minutes they felt perfect. A bigger size would have been too big. They are light as a feather. They keep my feet warm in a cold floor place. No slipping! They are a lovely natural creamy white wool color. Summary: superb construction, comfortable fit, natural materials that breathe. Did I mention QUIET? I had been looking for quiet soft sole slide-on slippers (forever, it seems). And Nootkas slippers are very quiet on hardwood floors. Everyone in the house appreciates that. But beyond the absence of noise is the absence of discomfort. Hands-down, one of the more comfortable pair of slippers I've ever worn. Merino wool is fantastic in cold and warm weather, and suede soles are the ultimate in natural comfort - not the most support in soles that you *can* get in a pair slippers, but exactly what I was looking for. Like moccasins. As to the fit: as expected. The roomy toe room is just what I wanted. Relatively loose fitting, compared to some wool slippers from across the pond, but agreeably so (some of those slippers are tight, and this pair feels just right). You can wear light socks comfortably. Heavy socks may be a bit of a "stretch" but would generally work fine. Bare feet work best. Might seem odd that these are great slippers for summertime, but wool breathes so well. I would be remiss if I didn't mention that that the heel cup is perfect for my feet. One issue I sometimes have with similar slippers is that the heel cup is too firm or uncomfortable. The heel cup on Nootkas provides subtle support but does not get in the way - it just does what it supposed to. Big plus. I am going to purchase a second pair, and I hope the company stays around, as this is the absolutely best pair of slippers I have ever purchased. If you're looking for a soft, comfortable slipper, this product excels in initial comfort. The quality of the upper material is great, and they offer a fantastic, accommodating stretch. They feel wonderful to wear around the house for short periods. However, there are significant drawbacks regarding durability and support. The core issue is the complete lack of a hard or structured sole, which means they offer little to no support. After just a short time, it's clear they are going to quickly lose their shape and the footbed will flatten out fast, especially with frequent use on hard floors. No hard bottom/outsole, poor arch support, will likely lose shape quickly, not suitable for long periods of standing/walking. Read more

I've gone from being a slipper antagonist, to a slipper advocate. We recently became a shoes-off-at-the-door household, to keep our floors cleaner longer. I'd resigned myself to spending three figures for house slippers that were stylish & high-quality; or settling for something clunky & juvenile, but more affordable. Then I spotted these slippers from Nootkas. They are cute with clean lines, warm & cozy without being suffocating. They are lightly supportive but nowhere are they stiff. The wool felt is tight, and thick, but soft on bare feet (if you roll that way). Suede bottoms give smooth but solid traction. Effortless to slip on and off, hands-free. And, and, and: they look great with just about everything! These are beautiful, very well- made slippers. My husband drags his feet and the noise is normally very annoying, but was so silent walking in these slippers. Unfortunately, his feet are wide and even the largest size available was too tight. We had to return them, which is why I gave only 3 stars. Read more

These are super comfy slippers that run very precisely true to size (as long as you're wearing socks of normal thickness). I can move very quietly around my house in these slippers. They are lightweight and the soles are not slippery. They keep my feet warm but not sweaty and are a dream to wear. I ordered the white color and the color is just like the picture. Read more

These slippers are fantastic. I have narrow feet and can wear them without socks. They keep my feet warm and are easy to slip on and off. Just like other reviewers have said, they are so quiet when walking. I am considering purchasing another pair in a different color. Price point might be a little high, but if they last for years, then it will totally be worth it. Read more
