I definitely think it's worth the investment to get solid winter gear if you live in the harsh nothern climate like I do. But kids insist on growing so it gets pricey. This is an awesome coat at a super reasonable price. And I usually order up a size to get two years out of coats anyway, so it's even easier to justify. The North Peak Kids Ski Jacket is a great option for winter activities. It is nice and warm for skiing. It has an inner buffer to keep snow out. It also has a drawstring at the bottom to keep the cold out. I love the ski pass holder because sometimes the scanners are too tall when she has it in her side pocket. One unique feature is the smooth lining of the hood. While most of the inside is fleece the smooth lining is great because my daughter's hair never gets caught in it. I am not a fan of the hand pockets. They are soft and warm inside but open from the top instead of the side making it less comfortable when using. We will typically wear gloves with this jacket but sometimes after skiing the kids want to take their gloves off but still need to keep their hands warm. They do have a zipper and a flap to keep the snow out. There is a mesh inside pocket which does not hold anything securely. Overall, I am very happy with this jacket. The warmth and quality rival more expensive brands. It fits well and looks good. Read more
