I already own a nut milk maker that I use regularly for soy milk and even blending fruits and veggies. I'm very happy with its performance and quality, but when I saw this new model boasting “noise reduction technology” for quieter operation, I had to give it a try. My very first impression of this new unit was that it is a much larger unit. It breaks down into multiple parts that all fit together for a fancier design. I was a bit disappointed that despite its larger size, it only holds 33oz compared to my older, smaller model’s 32oz, which is barely a noticeable difference in capacity. Still, I was hoping its fancier, complex design served some real purpose and wasn't just an over-engineered design. After several uses making many cups of soy milk and cleaning it through multiple wash cycles, I’d say my expectations were met for the most part. First off, there's no doubt that the design is an impressive one and all the parts snap together and come apart easily and quickly. I'm particularly impressed by the main base unit and how it has several design elements that make it possible to wash it under running water. It has a rubber seal that caps off the power cord plug and a mechanism that automatically seals off the bottom vents when you lift the unit. Very clever splashproof design which comes in very handy when washing it. And since the main container is also a separate piece with a wide open bottom when detached from the base unit, everything, and I mean everything is so much easier to clean, including the exposed blade itself. This is so much better than my old unit, where I need a long brush just to reach the blade at the bottom. However, this is where the perk of the fancier multi-part design pretty much ends and my disappointment set in on the "noise reduction technology". I know noise is a very subjective thing, as everyone has varying levels of what is considered noisy or quiet. But I still have a very difficult time imagining anyone who could possibly describe the operation of this machine as anything remotely close to quiet, or anything other than very loud and noisy. As for the performance, I have absolutely 0 complaints. It makes perfectly smooth soy milk out of raw soybeans I prep by soaking them overnight. I then like to mix in some instant chocolate and coffee powder for a semi-healthy (some sugar with chocolate powder) but delicious, refreshing chocolate soy latte. I also use the super quick (less than 5 seconds) blender function for this mix, and I love that it blends everything I throw at it just as well as any other blender I’ve owned, with adjustable power settings that go from 1 to 9 in its separate blender mode. I've looked at many different styles of nut milk makers available on Amazon, and this is the only product with this unique multi-part design. And I have to admit that despite the machine’s bulkier size, I definitely prefer taking this out and using this over my old slimmer one simply because it’s so much easier to clean everything after. I absolutely love this milk maker, it is so easy and fun to use. It gives you so many options on making different milks with nuts, seeds, and oats. My first time using it I made hazelnut milk which was really good. The booklet is straightforward and easy to follow and it also gives simple recipes that you can follow in the back of the booklet. You can also juice with this, although I haven't tried that feature yet. When you make the nut milk, if you save the pulp you can use it for other things like putting in smoothies, cooking, dehydrating it to create a nut flower, or even using it to make homemade body scrubs by mixing it with honey and salt, sugar or coffee grounds - nothing goes to waste! I'm so excited to at this into my weekly cooking routine. It comes with a cleaning brush and a strainer which comes in handy if you don't have a bigger strainer. To hold it's really easy to clean and it also has an auto cleaning and a drying function as well which comes in handy. You can even boil water in this as well if needed. Read more
