I don't recall every handling a hand-blender, but each time I've seen one, it's been in the hands of someone who seems to know what they're doing: pastry chefs, home cooks, Great British Bakeoff contestants, etc. As someone who has owned a couple nutribullet devices over the past ten or so years, I know that the brand is synonymous with affordable quality, so I was excited to crack this open on the holidays and see if it could help me elevate my cooking/baking. I know that whisking and emulsifying aren't the most difficult tasks in the kitchen. However, stand mixers are HEAVY, and I rarely find myself in the position where the effort of lugging our giant, 350-lb. stand mixer feels warranted. This year, I mixed eggs, created syrups, and blended wet ingredients using this nifty, little device. Not only did it do the job, cleanup was significantly faster. The two heads easily pop-off, and make for an easy process of switching heads mid-recipe. The speed settings leave a little to be desired ("Do you want fast, or extra fast?"), but for what it is, and the compact nature of this device, this seems IDEAL for people who could use an extra hand, or an extra whisk in the kitchen; yet don't feel like shelling out $300+ dollars for a more luxury, high-powered offering. The plug is a bit short, so ensure that you have an outlet close-by, and you'll be ready to bake with the best of them (or, at least, the so-so among them). Read more

The immersion blender is a brilliant invention. And now that nutribullet is making one, I'm not surprised that it delivers the same power-in-a-small-package that I've come to expect from all of their products. This is a game-changer if you like making soups, purees, or anything else that is prepared inside another large container. If you've never owned an immersion blender, you're in for a treat. And if you have owned one and you're in the market for a new one, this is a great choice. Functionality: it fits comfortably in the hand and doesn't make your hand/arm tired even if you have to use it for a while. The handle is actually on the smaller size for an immersion blender, but the blending power is just as strong as other larger ones I've had in the past. The standard blending head chews right through soups, even with big chunks of cooked potato. I never had to stop and declog it, which can waste a lot of time. Nope - this just kept going with no problems. (And look, you're already saving a huge amount of time by not pouring your soup into a blender, trying to blend it in there, dealing with the pressure created by the heat, etc, etc, having to blend in batches, yada yada, another container to clean...seriously, I really meant it when I said immersion blenders are amazing!) And this one is also fantastic since it can run for a long time without heating up. I always worry that a blender motor will burn out when it starts to heat up after just a few minutes of use, but I'm pretty sure this one will last a long time. And given that it's nutribullet, that also suggests it'll last a long time. Everything I own by this brand is still going strong. Ease of Use: this is just about the easiest blender in the world. Pop on the head you want (either blending or whipping), plug it into the wall, and turn it on. That's it. Oh, and speaking of the whipping head - it works great too, especially if you used in the included clear plastic cup for the eggs or cream or whatever you want to whip. It's designed for the whipping head to be a perfect fit. Value / price: this is a great blender for the price. Can you find cheaper ones? Sure, but if you're in the market for an immersion blender, you need it to be powerful. A weak one is even more useless than a regular weak blender. Do yourself a favor and get the right one the first time. You can thank me later. ;) Read more

I found this immersion blender to be disappointing, especially given the price point. It is on the expensive side, and it is primarily made of plastic parts. The blender itself is very powerful, almost too powerful. The first two times I used it with the accompanying plastic cup, when the blender was turned on, it immediately created a suction with the bottom of the cup, whirring quickly and splashing liquid all over the counter. You need to ensure that the blender doesn't touch the bottom to alleviate this issue. That was at the lower speed setting. When blending in a bigger bowl, this wasn't a problem. When blending soup in my Instant Pot, for example, I didn't have this problem. It blended the soup well, and it was easy to clean. Again, you have to clean it in a bigger bowl if you turn it on in soapy water to clean it. Overall, I had hoped this would perform better in a smaller glass, such as the plastic cup it comes with. Another reason for three stars is the lack of safety features. I already had an immersion blender that comes with a button that you need to press before the immersion blender will work. Initially, I thought that was an unnecessary extra. Still, I am now convinced that all immersion blenders should have this safety feature, especially after a friend lost part of her finger when she accidentally pressed the on button on her immersion blender. It stores easily on the counter, making it convenient to access. I am concerned that if some young children or individuals are unaware of its potential dangers, it could be hazardous to them. That isn't the most compelling reason not to buy this, but it is certainly worth considering. Read more

This immersion blender is deceptively strong! I was happy to see it handle some hard jobs like firm fruit (without water) and raw veggies! It is easy to use and easy to clean. And I like that it has multiple heads to add to versatility. I've been using it pretty consistently for a couple of weeks now and it has not let me down at all. Read more
