The irony, this isn’t marketed as a chew toy. However, it’s soft enough that my dog doesn’t lose interest after 5 minutes. And it isn’t flavored, so he always spits out the chewed up pieces as opposed to swallowing. It’s the perfect chew toy. Yes - once given to our dog it only lasts 30 minutes. I saw this at a local pet store, it was overpriced but I knew by dog would love it. He loves to chew on a good stick. It was much cheaper on Amazon and so I bought it…without reading reviews. My dog is a 10lb Malshi, so not a big dog. He had chewed through this “not a chew toy” in about 10 minutes. If this isn’t a chew toy then what is it? It’s a chew toy shape!!! This company knows dogs are going to chew on this toy and they slap the “not a chew toy” disclaimer on the package to cover their own butt (insert eye roll emoji). I will probably get my $6 worth since my dog isn’t a big chewer, but a large dog would destroy this thing in 30 seconds. Read more
I realize we're not the intended customer but we have a cat that loves to bite things so we've tried a few dog toys because the cat toys just don't have much for him like this. This is his favorite we've gotten. We got his first one from Petco and got this one once he needed a replacement. Like any toy similar you need to monitor your pets use because the tail can break as the pet bites it and you don't want them to bite off a piece and choke. We just make sure to remove damaged pieces. Read more
This is a pointless toy for dogs. This toy is not made to be chewed, which is what the Nylabone brand is known for. My 9 pound dog was able to rip this apart in minutes, Would not recommend. Read more
Nylabone = chew toy, right?? My 10 month long haired dachshund chewed off the head within 5 minutes. She was snuggling with it and it was a perfect size. But then I found the head. She is not an aggressive chewer and some of the Nylabones are sooo hard. What dog doesn’t chew on a toy even if they are playing fetch? There is a disclaimer stating this is not a chew toy, so just be careful when ordering a toy. Sometimes it is hard to tell. Read more
My dogs don’t play very much, but when I gave them this toy, one of them immediately took to it. She likes to throw it herself and chase it, and then she’ll sit down and chew on it. She is 35 lbs and did manage to chew some pieces off of it pretty quickly so it’s definitely not meant to be a chew toy (which the package already says), but as long as you keep an eye on your dog with this toy, I’d recommend.
