When I first purchased this primer I didn’t think much of it. I purchased it after seeing some videos on YouTube about it. I wasn’t sure if it was gimmicky or not. There is mixed reviews from some of the beauty gurus. One of my favorite YouTube beauty gurus loved it so I decided to give it a try. After a few uses I realized my makeup looked much better and stayed on longer. I love this with both powder foundation and liquid foundation. My pores and fine lines looked better when using this primer. I’ve tried a ton of primers both high end and drugstore. I like this one because it’s multitasking. It makes your face feel really soft and blurred pores without drying my skin out. I have combo skin so it can be hard to find a primer that doesn’t make my skin greasy but also doesn’t dry out my skin. The hydrating primers make my skin oily and the matte primers don’t give that nice plump healthy look to the skin. This one is a winner because it’s a good I’m between. I will be using it all summer and most likely year round. In the hottest months I will set my t zone with setting powder so I don’t get oily. Bonus- I love the very light sweet scent and also the texture! If your skin is super oily there may be better primers out there for you, otherwise if you have combo, normal, dry, etc. I would give it a try! You know, I don't usually like to fallow all the trends I see online. But this one had me curious. First of all NYX rarely disappoints anyhow, so I figured I may end up liking this. I Absolutely did! I'll start off by saying, that yes, I too like a primer that makes stuff last. Usually that entails that the primer is a little "tacky" to the touch and sometimes that sacrifices the moisture, and leaves my skin feeling a little dry, sticky, or stiff after a days use. This primer does NOT do those things, and STILL delivers long lasting wear, a great hold on my makeup, and primes the skin to a great moisture level that leaves me looking soft, and still hangs onto my cosmetics for the long haul (What a trooper eh? heehee) The smell bugged some people from what I saw, I love it. I happen to think marshmallow is a very good smell. Truth be told you could have called it "Frosting" "Cream" or "Cupcake" and I woulda felt the same, it's just a sweet smell, and that's all there is too it. Marshmallow probably more defines it's grip/stick. The packaging is a bigger size, and you do not need a ton at a time, a little goes a long way, with a dispenser that works excellent (three tubes in, zero clogs or build up). I think they nailed it on this one. Highly recommend for anyone, but excellent for skin that is NOT oily and maybe even more so on the dry side. I really like this primer. It does a great job at blurring and filling pores. Some might dislike the slight sugary vanilla like scent (obviously they were going for marshmallow). Personally I really enjoy that part. The scent is pretty mild, but if you're super sensitive to fragrance maybe skip on this. The only con I have with this is that it's really pretty tacky feeling. I would expect that from a primer BEFORE you apply foundation, but it was still pretty tacky after (and I have worn that foundation without primer so I know it's not tacky on its own). I fixed it with setting powder, but honestly I dislike having to set with powder because it invariably makes my lines look worse. Which is why I use the primer to start with. So it feels a bit counterproductive. That said, I'm quite picky about the textures of things. Even the slightest greasiness or stickiness drives me batty. Most people might not be bothered by the slight tackiness of this. It's a really good product that does what it says. I also have sensitive skin and this didn't cause any rashes or burning. I have extremely dry, sensitive skin so finding products I like isn’t the easiest task. I have tried numerous primers only to either have to give them away or throw them away for a variety of reasons including but not limited to break outs, dry/flaky skin, uneven makeup appearance due to the primer, creases, clogged pores due to silicone, enlarged pores, redness, etc. I was very hesitant to try another primer because I didn’t want to waste more money but I figured since it was on sale I would give it a shot. I had no primer because the price went up so high on the one I had been using when I ran out. I use a serum, a lotion, then this primer. I give each product a few minutes to be absorbed fully before applying the next. I am very happy with everything about this product. It goes on very well, smooths out evenly, doesn’t clog my pores, doesn’t feel heavy, and brightens my face. You can where it with or without makeup. Even though I have extremely dry skin, this primer doesn’t dry my skin out like most primers do. My makeup goes on much smoother and more even, and it doesn’t take as much primer or makeup. It leaves a little glow even after you apply your makeup. I read some reviews about a bad scent but I don’t think it has a bad scent at all. I absolutely love this primer and I’m very impressed with it, I just hope the price stays reasonable.
