This is a very sturdy mat. I was afraid it would be hard to lay flat but to my surprise, it laid flat right out of the box. We have very thick pile carpet, but this mat works great. My chair glides right over it. It is not super thick nor super thin. I hope it protects my rug for a good while. Read more

The media could not be loaded. This does NOT work on carpet. My carpet is low pile, but the chair sinks into this mat and makes it get stuck and impossible to move. It's infuriating!! And the only options to return it involves putting it in a BOX!! I don't have a box to fit this and I'm not spending more money to buy one!!! Do NOT waste your time or money is you have carpet. These mats are really pretty useless on regular household carpet with even short pile of about 3/8 inch. My wheeled desk chairs sink in and make dents. I think a short nap 3/16 inch commercial grade will be workable. Another caveat: despite all the mats I received having the same product ID, one of the 3 was not as dense as the other two, which I noticed when I picked up a roll in each hand. I weighed them and the lighter one was almost 2 pounds less than the heavier mats. I sent that back and got it replaced. If you have a good postal scale you can stand the rolled mats on their ends and get a weight. You want the mats to be 6 pounds, 12 and one-half ounces. The replacement mat is the same weight as the first two and I'm happy with it in that respect. Considering I paid only $25 each, I think they are fairly good for the price. Such better-quality mats are usually more than double that price. So for short-nap they probably are excellent, not so much for standard household carpet. Read more
