This is an excellent chair mat. I use it to go from my washable carpet to my tile floor. My chair was wrinkling up the carpet which is thin and it was making it very difficult to roll my chair. I got this mat and lapped it over the carpet and onto the tile and now my carpet never wrinkles up, my wheels never catch on it, and my chair rolls easily at all times. There is one feature of this mat that I particularly love. I have used the hard vinyl mats for carpeted floors for over 40 years, but they crack and break down within a year. This mat is a flexible mesh. No more having to lay it out in the sun for days to get it to lay flat. No more tripping over the edges until it does lay flat, and so far not a single crack to be seen. I love that. I rolled this one out and it went immediately flat and it doesn't have those awful pegs on the back that are so easy to hurt yourself on. This desk chair mat gets 2 thumbs way up from me. Read more
This year, I began teaching remotely from home and converted a spare bedroom into a dedicated office. The room features ¾ inch solid wood flooring. To protect the floor, I purchased a set of rubber chair casters specifically designed for hardwood surfaces, assuming that this would eliminate the need for a floor mat. However, after two months, my wife noticed marks on the oak where the chair had been. Consequently, I ordered the “HOMAK Office Chair Mat for Hardwood & Tile Floor, 46"x72" Computer Chair Mat, Non-Curve Anti Slip Hard Floor Protector for Rolling Chair, Under Desk Rug Mat for Home Office.” Upon arrival, the mat came in a much smaller box than anticipated and was tightly rolled. I was initially concerned that this would cause permanent waves, but after unrolling, the mat quickly flattened with only a minor curl at one end, which resolved itself after several hours. Shortly thereafter, I detected a noticeable chemical odor from the mat, especially when flipped over. Reading further into the product details, I learned it is made from PVC. Despite being advertised for hardwood floors, additional research produced mixed expert opinions concerning the suitability of PVC mat on hardwood floors-some noting potential risks to wood surfaces due to chemicals in PVC mats. To prevent possible damage, I chose not to use the mat on my hardwood floor. Instead, I evaluated the mat in my workshop, where it performed well—laying completely flat and presenting no tripping hazard. The texture provided improved control when moving the rolling chair, as opposed to the excessive mobility without a mat. The 46"x72" size was ideal for my workspace, allowing easy movement between work areas. As I did not use the mat on hardwood as intended, I do not believe my experience should impact its rating positively or negatively for that application. Accordingly, I have assigned a neutral rating of three stars. Read more
An area of beautiful oak wood flooring in front of the desk of my home office was taking a beating from years of roller chair activity, and the clear-plastic protective mat I'd been using only seemed to make matters worse.. Time to refinish the floor? Probably yes - but first needed to come up with a means of protecting it. The 46"x72" Homek chair mat exactly covers the space in front of the desk normally occupied by two rolling office chairs, and is definitely an upgrade. How so? 1. The underside is coated with a high friction material that keeps the mat in place (the previous mat tended to shift and slide which further degraded the flooring), 2. It has an attractive appearance that fits in with office decor, 3. It lays flat thus avoiding tripping hazard at corners, 4. The material seems heavy-duty and durable, 5. It muffles the sound of rolling chairs while also keeping chairs in place. 6. It completely covers the damaged floor area thus alleviating (for now, at least) the need to repair/refinish the floor. I will say that the product emits an unpleasant odor when first unpacked, but this goes away after airing for 24 hours. Very pleased overall! Read more

I ordered this to place under my office chair as not to ruin the carpeting constantly rolling back and forth. I found it worked well and was easy to roll ok. The edges did start to fray a little, but it appears cosmetic and isn’t effecting the overall functionality. After a couple days of being played out it didn’t have the curve from the form it was shipped in. Great for a home office, though it probably is more suited to a hard floor than a carpet, but it still works ok. I like the neutral color as it kind of fits in anywhere. Overall I like it, great size, firm enough to easily roll on, and it looks pretty nice. Read more
The design of the material on the Homek Office Chair Mat for Hardwood & Tile Floor is so nice. This mat is not recommended for carpets but suitable for most anything else. The material is good quality and easy to lay flat. It protects your floors very well and is also fire retardant. The rubber backing prevents it from moving around or catching under the wheels, keeping it in place. The mat is also very easy to maintain and keep clean by simple wiping. Read more
Review of Office Chair Mat for Hard Floors by Homek This floor protector is well made and fits naturally into a home office setup. It’s thin enough that the chair rolls smoothly, yet the non‑slip backing keeps it firmly in place without any shifting or bunching. The surface texture feels good under bare feet and adds a bit of warmth compared to sitting on tile. It arrived rolled but settled flat quickly with no curling at the edges. The patterned material looks and feels nicer than the usual clear plastic mats and blends well with my corner desk layout. On my tile floor it provides just the right amount of grip and protection, and the chair moves freely without feeling restricted. It’s easy to clean and doesn’t slide even with frequent movement throughout the day. For anyone with hard floors looking for a functional and attractive chair mat, this one is an easy recommendation. It performs well, stays put, and adds a bit of style to the workspace. Read more
