OKABASHI Womens Maui Flip Flops - Sandals

These are great sandals! I wear a size 7-7.5 in most shoe brands, or a size 38. The mediums fit perfectly! What I like about these is that they are made of solid rubber, all one piece. Most casual flip flops are not durable at all. These are indestructible by comparison. They are even dishwasher safe! I like the textured insole, it's very grippy and comfortable. This is my second pair of Okabashi sandals, so I'm going to compare the two here. My first pair is the Lakeside style, which has an almost wedge-like 1.75" heels. They have always felt just a little heavy, which makes sense since they are solid rubber. The Mauis are much lighter and don't have as much of a downward tilt. I've had my Lakesides for over a year and I just now had to perform a minor repair. The strap that goes between your toes snapped, but since it's solid rubber, a dab of Krazy Glue made them good as new. I've even worn them in the shower since then. I know they are guaranteed for two years, but since I could mend them, I figured why discard perfectly good sandals? I think the strap snapped because of the heavy wedge heel/downward slope I mentioned above, and I do not anticipate the Mauis having the same problem. Very well made and ergonomically designed. But not true to size. They run a bit small with no in-between size. So they are either too small or too large. Well made and cool looking though. And even though too small - for a while they ARE comfortable - not for more than a couple hours if you find them a bit tight. Read more

I gave this item a 4 instead of a five because...the red is a bit on the brash side. I am not sure that it resembles pomegranate. However, I love this flip flop and all other Okabashi sandals. They fit so good, do not slide around, are washable and my legs and feet do not hurt even after working and walking on a cement floor all day! The one piece construction gives peace of mind if you wear them a lot because it is highly unlikely that they will separate at the toe piece. I also have a pair of the two piece construction two color ones and they have not broken and it's been 6 years since I bought them and they still look new.. The fact that they are made in the U.S.A is a big plus for me. The price was incredibly low for such a quality made item as you can spend twice that on crappy made in China sandals at department stores. Read more

This style of Okabashi flip flops are the shoes i wear 99% of the time! I love them soooo soooo much! They are the only shoes that don't hurt my feet! I can wear them 24/7 and never have any pain from wearing them! The hollow area under the heel of your foot on the sole of the shoe, completely eliminates all of my heel pain! And the arch support in the shoes is superb! And the little textured nubs are the perfect amount of grip to keep your foot securely and very comfortably in place in the shoe. And probably the thing i love the most about these is that they are solid rubber and a 1 peice design (it is molded in one peice...so the straps are not added on separately). So no matter what you throw at them you can just wash em off with a quick spray of water! They don't stain from sweat and dirt and grime either! The only pair i have had stain at all is my white pair...and that staining is extremy minimal and almost unnoticable! If i could give it a rating of 20/10 i would! These shoes are the best! Read more
