Selected this stand after reviewing multiple options to be sure the stand would fit and support the size, weight and thickness of a 17" laptop. The stand delivers on all fronts. Well made, easily supports the laptop without the supports sagging. Three reasons we selected this item in addition to the specifications: (1) other reviews (2) price, which was very reasonable and (3) the inclusion of a wrench to keep the support hinges tight. The wrench was a pleasant surprise - commercial grade, not the typical cheap "toy". All in all very pleased.
