This is a nice little lantern that you or your kids can use to find their way around a dark home at night. Perhaps it could even be used to light up your path out in the backyard or something. What it is not, however, is an effective light source for outdoor activities like camping or hiking. It just doesn't have the output for that. This actually turned out to be a perfect fit for my mother. You see, my father recently passed away, leaving my mother all alone in her two-story house. Sometimes, she needs to get around at night, when the lights are all out, and doesn't want to go flipping all of the lights back on. This is the perfect thing for her. It's lightweight and durable (kinda feels like a toy, to be honest), so even if she drops it, it will be fine. It provides just enough light to help her see the way to the bathroom or down the stairs. She can even use it as a kind of night light by her bed. Plus, it's rechargeable, so she doesn't need to keep asking me for new batteries like she used to do with her old flashlight. I think the seller might be shooting themselves in the foot by describing this as some sort of outdoor camping lantern. It's far better suited for home use. Read more

The media could not be loaded. This Oneleaf portable LED night light is a neat little light. It packs a lot of versatility in a small unit. It boasts three different light temperatures - white, natural, and warm. The natural and warm modes are similar but you can notice the difference on the brightest level. The range of brightness is impressive. If you only need a dim light for sleeping, you can quickly set it to the lowest option for any of the temperatures and rest easy. If you're looking to light up the tent at night or read and don't want to disturb your partner, you should be able to find your sweet spot. The unit itself is very lightweight. It won't add much to your load if you're looking to travel lightly. The strap is a faux leather material and is extremely thin. It's delicate enough that I wouldn't suggest carrying this light with you on a hike. It's perfectly fine for using around the campsite, but it's not rugged enough to withstand most outdoor adventures. If you're using it inside, it has many uses including as a night light (as advertised), as extra lighting in case of a power outage (remember to keep it charged if there's inclement weather in the forecast), as a reading light and more! This lantern is bitter sweet. On one hand it's very light, which to me is usually a pro. But it's also a con in this case because it seems almost toy-like with the lightweight plastic. The durability just doesn't seem to be there and I question how long the faux strap will hold up over time, especially after holding or hanging it. It does do what it says in the advertisement. Long press the single top button to dim the light, let go and long press again and it will brighten. There is no way to dial in the brightness directly - you have to hold until your satisfied. If you stop short or wait too long, you'll have to go back the other direction and then start again. A simple tap of the same button changes between cool light, warm light and natural light and is very responsive. There is also a small physical slider button on the back to completely turn it off and prevent accidental activation (like while storing it). Overall, it doesn't put off a ton of light. For a personal space or small tent, this will work. For an emergency light, it would be useful, but it doesn't fill a small room well either. I could see this as a nightlight in a bathroom or as a bedside lantern to help you navigate to the bathroom or the kitchen. I don't know how long it takes to charge or to drain - there are no ratings really. When charging, there is a very small red LED that you have to look at just the correct angle to see it, but I'm not sure if it will go out or change colors when fully charged. There is no indicator that gives a status of the current charge level or the approximate charging time. I don't think I would buy another of these. For the price and what you get, there seems to be a disconnect. If this was a 2-pack, it would be more enticing for the quality of the plastic and simple features There's also no US indicator as to the size of the battery inside, but based on weight it can't be very big. The 4W indicator probably means it will last awhile in a single full charge at medium brightness though. I just feel like there are other more solid camping lanterns and even 3 packs that are the same size and price range, but feel sturdier. If this was 1/2 the price or came as a set, it would make more sense to me. Mine also came with no instructions, so I'm only able to go off the listing information and trial and error. But, I did get some bonus pre applied brownish finger prints and some type of animal hair on it too. I would have much preferred the instructions though. Read more
