These Chelsea short winter boots have a roomy toe box. I got my regular boot size of 7.5 and they fit well, except in the ankle area. The gusset (the elasticated side panel), is stretchy, making it easy to slip the boots on and off. However, there are some imperfections. I found that the fuzzy lining sticks out from one boot, and there is sticky fabric on the inside of the gusset on the other. One boot is misshapen, and there are already creases present, making me wonder whether it had been worn before, or if it was just made this way. The lining is synthetic, which you can tell by observing that the part sticking out is not as soft when compared to real wool. On the inside of the gusset where the lining meets the elastic band, it feels rough next to bare skin. The outsoles have shallow traction, which may not have enough grip for walking on ice. The biggest issue that hinders wearability is that these boots don’t contour to the ankles, and they dig into the front of your ankles when you walk. It has something to do with the cut -- I don’t believe that stretching or breaking them in would change things much. To buffer the chafing somewhat, you can either wear heavy socks, or tuck your pants into the boots. Read more
The OOW Chelsea Boots in brown are not quite what I was expecting. Unfortunately, the overall quality feels flimsy and poorly made. I’m pretty disappointed, as they don’t seem like they will last more than a week or two with regular wear. Though I can still wear them for now, I’m concerned about their durability and long-term comfort. Because of this, I can only give them 1 star. Read more
OOW Chelsea Boots - Anti-Slick Ankle Fuzzy Short Boot for Women My daughter has been wanting a pair of warm short boots to wear to hockey games, colder indoor events, etc. in receiving these boots, the first thing I looked at was the sole of the shoe. I can tell that it has a lot more durability than your average box store brand, but will not endure the same outdoor use as a prestige brand. My daughter plans to wear these foods mostly indoors, in a non-active way, so I think it will last longer than they will fit her - if you were to wear these boots outdoors for most of the winter, I think you would get one good season out of them and they would look pretty beat up by spring. The first way material on the shoe looks nice and is good quality, does not quickly mark or have a lot of ‘extra texture.’ The inside of the shoe is a very soft fur that feels warm, comfortable, but doesn’t feel like it will immediately pill and bunch (ie sherpa). I ordered a size 7 1/2 for my daughter who wears a size 7 and is growing. I am a size 8, and they fit firmly but are comfortable. I would recommend that you order the size that you normally wear, unless you plan to wear a thicker hiking sock, then I would size up 1/2 size. I think these shoes are a great value for their price and I am interested in seeing what other products come from this brand. Read more
I really wanted to love these boots, but they're just not my favorite. The way these are made make them buckle very strangely in a lot of places when you wear them. The top of the boot that hits the front of my shin digs into my leg when I walk, so it's definitely not the most comfortable. There's also a big bubble right below the elastic part on the ankle, which makes it look funny when I'm wearing it. The boots are warm, so that's a plus, but I don't think I would get these boots again. The color is exactly what the photos show. Read more
