Very impressed by the cleaning I’m achieving with this toothbrush. I was using a basic Oral B electric toothbrush for last 2 years and before that a high end Sonic Care. I’m very impressed with the cleaning power of even a more basic Oral B over Sonic Care. I really think the round heads make major difference. The iO series of toothbrushes are really great & made my dental cleaning so easy. My friend suggested an iO3 that she’s used for over year but I bought the iO5 because such a great sale and interest free monthly payment plan. I didn’t have any bleeding with standard head and right amount of pressure but if you’re not used to an electric brush keep that in mind. I don’t always use the app but it has a lot of information in it and can tell you which tooth you’ve not cleaned enough. I did use it the first week I had it so I could see how to properly brush. Even without the app the lights on the brush show you if you’re pressing too hard or soft, time to brush 2 full minutes. The battery lasts a long time if you don’t want to leave stand plugged in. I had a different brand before this one and that one was my first electric toothbrush. One thing I didn’t like about it was the size of the brush head. It was too narrow and since it was a vibration device only, the head material being plastic was very uncomfortable to use and the vibration of the head material against my teeth was annoying if you didn’t hold it just right. The size of the head was very small and narrow so it seemed to take a long time to get the job done. After receiving and using this device, what a difference it made. Very easy to use and cleaned extremely well. The brush head size was perfect and comfortable and even though there is some vibration, it was very comfortable and easy to get used to and wasn’t annoying. As far as cleaning goes, this device was exceptional and did a fantastic job on the first try, the rotation of the heads really seem to help clean. The APP mapping of the brushing worked great and let me know where I needed to brush and for how long. It’s not a cheap brush but so far seems to be well worth the expense. It came with three brush heads and I used the ultimate clean one only so far and did a great job. The brush heads may seem expensive but if the system does what it’s supposed to do then I’m all in. This is a great toothbrush, works very good and is easy to clean. The travel case is nice for keeping the unit clean and dry with space for an extra tip. So, I'm a long-time user of Sonicare, which means I've gone through a number of them that always tend to break right at warranty expiry. Though I usually find them on sale, they are not cheap, nor are the brushes, and for the price they are still so prone to breaking down and various issues. So, when my current one started to have an issue (turning on randomly on its own, startling all around), I started shopping for a replacement. This Oral B brush went on sale, so I decided to check it out - maybe return if it wasn't all that great in comparison. At first, I was a little confused, because I thought these brushes mainly worked by rotation, but they are both that and sonication. I don't know if the vibration speed matches to Sonicare, but it doesn't seem critical. One immediate thing I noticed was the light ring which instantly lets you know if you are pressing too hard or not enough. As somebody with gum issues, this is appreciated. Next thing, do set up and try out the app. I was skeptical, but it really does a good job of figuring out what part of your mouth you are brushing, apparently by some kind of bluetooth-based sonar and something in the brush that can tell if it's facing up or down. It's not to the level of knowing which tooth, but it maps the front and two sides of both the top and bottom of your mouth, which is still pretty detailed. Rather than just using some kind of timer, it tracks that you spend the proper amount of time in each of the 6 regions. Your coverage within each region is then up to you. Sure, there are some times when it is a bit off, but I find that that tends to happen if I turn my head. So if you keep your head still, it seems to work more accurately. Not too hard to do. Besides the main brush tracking, you can set specific goals, and it will add recommendations for other steps like tongue brushing and flossing. I started a program for plaque removal. So now, instead of brushing or not kind of mindlessly in the shower one a day, I have started brushing twice a day, with more intention, and it's even slightly fun. And so far, my teeth feel smoother and cleaner. I also get less gum bleed, perhaps due to avoiding pressing too hard. I think this is still a bit pricey at full price, but maybe in this case it could be worth it for the improvement in your teeth and gum health. On sale, I can definitely recommend. Purchased to replace sonic care on advice of dental hygienist. Able to do a great job on wisdom teeth, timer, pressure indicator. Adjustable intensity. 3 different brushes with different advantages. Allows for getting used to it without discomfort. Glad to have switched. This model was specifically recommended because it has adjustable intensity. Read more
