Why did you pick this product vs others?: I would give this product 5 stars EXCEPT the lid is too big for my main brand, Trader Joes. But you can hold down the lid and use this stirrer anyway. Otherwise this is a great little gadget that does what is says; it stirs your peanut butter when it separates, and lets you avoid making a mess. It is easy to wash and store. I like the way the liner lets you clean off the stirrer when you pull it out of the lid. Read more

What's the Number One natural peanut butter in America? This lid doesn't fit it. People seem to think it's OK to hover this thing over the jar and turn it unfastened. NO. Peanut butter is messy and it spills while trying to use this thing. Also, it doesn't stir the peanut butter. Big criterion. The bottom of the "mixer" spins around but it doesn't integrate the oil on top with the peanut butter. I can't believe America's Test Kitchen endorsed this junk. Read more

Like so many of you looking at this product, I LOVE natural peanut butter. And this mixer DOES make stirring it INFINITELY easier than doing it by hand, especially if you have arthritic hands. Problem is, the lid (at 77mm) is about 1/4" too large for the mouths of every 16 oz jar that I've tried this with, so I'm not sure how they came up with saying that this fits that size jar, because it doesn't. The one you ACTUALLY want is Model 300, with the 70mm lid. Now, outside of that, this does make fast and easy work of stirring natural nut butter. Holding the stirrer firmly on the jar, the first few turns of the handle are challenging, but the gasket and lid keep the oil inside the jar, and once you've made those first few turns, it's easy peasy. Because I loved the way that this worked, I thought, "well, I'll just go to the website and order replacement lids, lid liners, and gaskets, and make this one handle work". Well, $35 (and an additional full stirrer for $10) later, I was looking at $20 of merchandise... and $15 for shipping. Uhhh, no. I was going to just leave it all there and walk away (never even knowing that I wouldn't be able to return my amazon order until I read the reviews here), but, being the person that I am (who tends to voice my opinion in writing), I wrote them to complain that the shipping prices are ridiculously high for what I estimated wouldn't even cost $10 for USPS Priority shipping. Customer service was considerate enough to write back to say that PayPal automatically charges going by items ordered (I had 7 in my cart - 2 lids, 2 corresponding gaskets, 2 corresponding lid inserts, and 1 full set), not weight, and that they'd adjust my shipping to reflect more accurate pricing, so I placed my order, and got everything in about 2 business days. The lids, gaskets, and inserts fit the stirrer from this set perfectly, so now I've got exactly what I needed to begin with. So, long story short - and about $45 later - I've got stirrers to cover every size jar I'm likely to find in a regular grocery store, and no more sore or oily hands... It just depends on how determined you are to get the right size stirrer for your needs, because this one is most likely not it. Because of that, I can't recommend this for gift giving, and I'm baffled by the packaging claim that these are "fun", but they ARE most likely just what you need, IF you're willing to do a bit of work and/or hunting. This “Organic Self Cleaning Peanut Butter Mixer” sounds fancy, right? And honestly, it kind of is. It mixes your peanut butter and cleans itself—because apparently, stirring peanut butter by hand is a crime against humanity. I half expected it to start singing or dance, but nope, just quietly does its job like a tiny kitchen ninja. White and sleek, it looks like it belongs in a sci-fi movie about buttery futures. If you love peanut butter but hate the mess and arm workout, this might just be your new best friend. Warning: you might never want to eat unmixed peanut butter again. Read more
