Not great setup. So far I can only get one drive to work in it. You cant format a drive while in it or set on up. If you M2 SSD was formatted as primary Drive it appears to not see it al all. Last but not least the Button on the front is metal and looks great except it falls out every time you tile the unit. Read more
Plugged in a single drive, worked immediately with Apple Time Machine, no problem. Read more
I purchased this for my base M4 Mac Mini. I've added a 1TB SSD for general storage and one 6TB 3.5 HDD on RAID 0 for backup. No complaints from me the SSD appears to be fast enough, though I haven't put it to a real test yet. The 6TB HDD is just for backup currently and that is going good. I haven't run into any issues yet and setup was super easy. I have no perceived noise coming from this unit and the external connections for USB are all working as intended. Read more
I had high hopes for the ORICO-M435 Mini Tower to pair with my Mac Mini, but it’s been pretty underwhelming from the start. The setup experience was rough, there’s no clear explanation for RAID modes, no support documents included, and even YouTube was no help since ORICO doesn’t seem to have any proper setup guides for this model. Performance was also disappointing. Several users (myself included) only saw around 10 Mbps speeds, which is shockingly slow for something advertised as a multi-bay enclosure. To make things worse, the switches for RAID/JBOD modes are confusingly labeled, and documentation contradicts itself about which position is which. Build quality looks nice, and the idea of stacking it with the Mac Mini is cool in theory but that’s where the positives end. Between the poor speed, lack of guidance, and frustrating user experience, it’s hard to recommend. On a positive note USB connectivity worked good and I did like its small size and that it matches my Mac. Noise level is ok. Read more
This is a nice storage and docking station. Up to 56TB so plenty of storage, and extra ports for Mac Mini. Made of aluminum and quiet fan. Very cool. Read more
